Re: What is everyone reading?

I recently finished 'In Her Shoes' by Jennifer Wiener & 'Sam's Letters to Jennifer' by James Patterson. Both easy reads. I'm about to start 'The Girls Guide To Hunting & Fishing' by Melissa Bank.

'The Undomestic Goddess' - by Sophie Kinsella. I love her books for some light reading.

Re: What is everyone reading?

I was a big fan of old Anne Rice - not so much the born again stuff.

I'm about 10 pages away from finishing Middlesex by Jeffrey Eugenides (he wrote the Virgin Suicides) - great book!

Re: What is everyone reading?

How is Middlesex? I didn't realize Anne Rice writes about born-again. It's not interesting?

Re: What is everyone reading?

Middlesex was fantastic; so well written. He is great at painting the stories of his characters. I highly recommend it.

As for Anne Rice, I loved the Vampire Chronicles and even Pandora. In the past year or so, she came out with a book about Jesus. She recently became a born-again.

Re: What is everyone reading?

I am reading Million Little Pieces and Teacher Man at the same time (one at night one druing the day-- I am English teacher and can't help it) My students are reading Child Called It as we speak (they better be!) -- it is so disturbing, kind of like Million Little Pieces, but life-affirming at the same time. It makes you thankful for the life you have and sympathetic to others who don't have it so great. Enjoy!

Re: What is everyone reading?

I just finished - The Year of Magical Thinking - great book - really depressing. Now I'm reading Dive from Clausen's Pier - great book. The characters are so well written.

A terribly sad and horrific story, but such a good read. You'll cry your eyes out and want to punch his mother. I read the series, there's also 'The Lost Boy' and 'A Man Named Dave' that continues his story.

Re: What is everyone reading?

Right now I'm reading a book called 'Due to Lack of Interest Tomorrow has Been Cancelled' by Irene Kampen.

It takes place in 1968 when she was 45 y/o and returned to college to finish her degree. It's interesting, she left school in 1943 to get married and now everything has changed and of course all the students think she's ancient.
