I have 4 Dells at home. I love them. The only time I EVER had any problems was a hardware problem which they resolved promptly and efficiently, at no cost to me.

Thank you everyone. After the wedding we want to look into getting a computer. You all helped. Now we know what we are going to look for.

It seems like dell is the big winner...

this is advice from my DH who is a computer geek and has built the 5 computers we have in our house...

dell and gateway good
compaq and HP bad

compaq and HP put a 'block' in their computers that make it more difficult for you to fix a problem yourself...you call them and they say that they have to fix it ...BS...

my old roommate had one and DH was constantly trying to break into it to fix little minor problems...

DELL all the way and if you go to their website they have great specials if you order directly online. Thats what I did and I love it! No problems

My brother has 2 dell's and I just ordered a new one from them on Monday!! I am waiting for it and it should be here Sat!

Maybe we should contact Dell and see if we can get a LIW volume discount!!!

We're looking into purchasing a PC for home and Dell is also at the top of our list. My niece just bought one as well and she loves it.
