why not have your fmil host a brunch the morning after instead - this way she can contribute if she wants and your dad can have the rd
I was going to say the same thing...
I wouldn't take it away from your father now especially since he's so excited about it. I would have your FH explain that (as a result of the decision the 3 of you made together) your father is already planning the RD, but that you'd love for her to host another wedding-related event...
