i only invited my current boss and one co-worker. I also invited my previous boss who i worked for for like 4 yrs. He is so nice.

I only invited 1 co-worker. She's the only one I socialize with outside of work. I didn't want to deal with the 'if I invite A, I have to invite B and C.' I don't have a direct supervisor and was not going to invite all of the partners in my firm. The other attorneys who recently got married at my firm also only invited co-workers they were close with. If you haven't been there for a while, I don't think you need to invite a lot of people from the office. I'd just invite your boss and any co-workers you are close with.

why do you HAVE to invite people from work, if you do not do anything with them out side of the office i would say dont worry about it.

Lilacwine, I totally understand.

I am in a small office, of about 11 people. None of which are my real friends. We don't hang out together outside of work, we don't share secrets. We are strictly 'work buddies'. And that's about the extent of it.

When I got engaged, everyone here was like, 'oh my, I can't WAIT to come to your wedding!'....Uhhh... I don't think so. It's not a nightclub, it's my wedding! You can't just come along! And, for each couple I invite, it costs me about $600!

So, I opted not to invite anyone from my office, not even my boss (who I would throw up on if he showed up at my wedding. He is one of the last people I'd want to see there).

I think that it is your wedding and YOUR money. You can invite, or not invite, whoever you want.

If you're not really close to anyone at work I wouldn't invite anyone and that includes your boss. This is your day and is supposed to be for close family and friends, not for just any acquaintance at work, plus their 'guest'

That's what I did! no hard feelings but just started here in September!
