Who doesnt wash their hair everyday? I didnt today and I feel like a grease pit

Every other day for me!!! My hair gets too dry for every day....
Sometimes, after a good blowout, I am able to go 2 days

T - you have gorgeous hair and if that's your secret, then count me in

I try to wash my hair every other day if I can. Usually it doesn't work out that way because if I go to the gym then I have to wash my hair no matter what! But if I know I'm gonna be in the house then I'll try to skip that day.

Some tips from my hair dresser - use a very small amount of shampoo and only use it on your scalp. Live it in and put conditioner on the middle and ends of your hair. Shampoo is really hard on your hair and can cause split ends.

The other tip is to try to rinse your hair with cold water...as cool as you can stand it. It seals the hair - makes it less frizzy - keeps your color (if you dye it) and makes it shiny!

hrmm I thought this thread was about hair then it was about cows.. im so lost.

I wash my hair every 2-3 days. I let it naturally dry and I don't put stuff in it. When I was a smoker I'd have to do it at least every 12-24 hours.. the smell got to me.

Now I don't smoke so it's alright.

Somedays are weirder than others. Sometimes I just have to clean it out. I have very dry scalp so the hair will get very dull if I wash it too much. Other days, my hair gets greasy and I have to wash it cause it feels icky, then my scalp peels and flakes.

Mostly I feel I just can't win.


But overall most people who've seen my hair say it's gorgeous. My ego begs me to agree! hehe

I wet and condition my hair every morning when i take a shower. But I wash it with shampoo every 3rd day. I have very think, curly hair and even though it's a little over shoulder-length, there is alot of it! If I washed it every day I would have had an Afro! and I thnk that look is out!

How can a post about washign hair turn into drama?

Well you guys will think I am gross, but I get my hair washed once a week, at the salon.

I agree it totally depends on hair texture.

I am a black woman, so my hair is different than some of you on here.

I wash my hair everyday during the week and once on the weekends. I don't know why I wash it everyday during the week - it is time-consuming. Maybe I won't wash my hair tomorrow. I don't use mouse, gel or hairspray in my hair so it doesn't get greasy easily. I am envious of people who only need to wash their hair twice a week - it saves so much time in the a.m. before work. I had a friend in college who only washed her hair once a week! She didn't need to wash it more often than that!

Just wanted to add that when I woke up this morning and looked in the mirror, I really liked the way my hair looked. But alas, I washed it and couldn't get this style back. Maybe tomorrow.

My best friend is black.
I don't think she does it once a week.

But i love that she gets to 'set' her hair. I LOVE that she can go totally dramatic in a sitting.. me.. its a cut, wash, dry.. same old same old.

Just like my hubby gets 5 o'clock shadow by noon time, I get the 5 o'clock grease pit if I don't wash and condition my hair every day. I wouldn't even think of leaving the house if I didn't wash my hair. It's baby fine and gets very greasy!

depends on what I was doing....if I exercise, then I have to wash it...if not and I blow dry it straight I can go 1 or 2 days without washing it. and the funny part is....I get the MOST complements on my day-old hair. (I have such thick hair that the days calm it down)

I wash my hair everyday....I know its not good for my hair but I feel 'unclean' if its not washed.

supposedly, it's not but i know what you mean. if you really want to let it go every other day, after a week or two the 'unwash' day it won't look that greasy.

I usually wash it every other day, although on the other days I condition it.

i have to wash my hair everyday. if i don't it gets greasy and itchy.
