Re: Who wants to talk DISNEY WORLD?
A few questions...1) Do you have to use the new tickets on consecutive days? I know there was a time when couldn't skip days, or you lost a day.
2) How does pleasure island work? I haven't been to orlando since i was 14, so I have never been there? Do you need to buy the Magic Your Way plus tickets, or can you just decide to go there and pay admission? Is it worth it?

Re: Who wants to talk DISNEY WORLD?
1. tickets are good for 14 days from day of first use, unless you purchase the no expiration option.2. sorry not sure
now for my own questions- we'll have a 1 year old with us, can we take her on things like haunted mansion, pirates, all the rides in fantasy land? what can't she do besides the roller coaster and tower of terror? also my mom's 60th birthday is right before our trip so we want to do something special for her while down there, any suggestions?

They eliminated the fee to get into PI. You now pay by entrance to each club.

Since when?? I was there less then a month ago and you paid a one-time fee to get into all of the PI and the clubs/bars. I believe the PI ticket is $20

Re: Who wants to talk DISNEY WORLD?
Let me clarify something, Downtown Disney is free. Inside DD is the Marketplace (free), PI ($20 fee at night), and the West Side (free). I love DD, we usually go everyday during our visit, for shopping, dinner, drinks, etc.Last month when we were there it was cold, but still so much fun. We tried a bunch of new resteraunts at different resorts that were very good. I love the Boardwalk area.
My hubby hasn't been in over 10 years, since HS. I think I have convinced him to go sometime later this year (Oct-Dec), just the 2 of us. I can't wait!

Re: Who wants to talk DISNEY WORLD?
I think it's $35 to make the magic your way tickets have no expirationAs far as I know, PI is STILL a one time fee ($20 something buck), but instead ofpaying and getting the wristband at the entrance gate to PI, the gate is down and you pay at the entrance to whatever the first club is that you go to, but you still have a wrustband, so every subsequent club is free.
It's not a new ticketing policy, so much as a new traffic policy, now you can walk around PI for free, and only pay if you want to get into clubs.
With a one year old? I really don't know b/c I've never brought kids to WDW, but while most rides DO have height restrictions, most of the mild ones should be okay. The rocknrollercaster, tower of terror, test, track, mission:space, kilimanjaro safaris, dinosaur, will all present a problem...One thing they Do have if you want to go on the rides is that if you're there with DH, you can go on the ride while Dh watched the baby, then when you get off, you come get the baby, and DH can go right on the ride. I think 1 is a little young for WDW. If you get the unoffical guide though (GREAT RESOURCE) it gives you the height restrictions for every ride and also tells you which ones are scary, even tho they may not have height restrictions, although sometimes they increase the height restrictions to account for age...for example, the new stitch ride doens't even move, but it's a little scary, so they had to raise the height restriction to keep younger kids off of it

Re: Who wants to talk DISNEY WORLD?
Oh, and you can get into PI, DisneyWQuest, waterparks, etc on the plus ticket, or just decide when you go there, it works either way. i forgot how much the plus options are. We usually go with the tixx with plus options (like our premium AP) because we feel like once we're down there we want to do what we want without paying, if we're down there and we ahve to pay, we'll be like 'ok, let's not go to PI..and save the $$'...On the other hand, we rarely make the extra $ worth it, so I would find out how much the plus options are, how many you get, and thens ee if it's worth it..
add up..
like
We will defintiely want to go to PI $20 each
We will go to disneyquest: $30 each
We will go to the waterpark twice $70 each
as you see it adds up quickly, but there is SO much to do in the 4 parks you might not get to all the other stuff, or, as with us, you might be too tired at night to want to go to PI... so you just have to sit down and think realistically and do the math

Re: Who wants to talk DISNEY WORLD?
thanks for the info. i'll check out the unofficial guide. yeah 1 is a little young, it's my niece, but my family has been trying to go on this trip for years and if we wait till she is older chances are i'll have a young one and then my brother's kids will be too old (they're 8 and 5 now). so we figured aw heck let's just go and we'll work it out.

Re: Who wants to talk DISNEY WORLD?
We did WDW for our honeymoonBut I spent a lot of the time worrying about work (seriously bad stuff going on here at that time) and trying to make sure Jim (who's never been) saw EVERYTHING.
I've been there before 1999, but our honeymoon we did it ALL! I mean EVERYTHING!
Now, Jim wants to go back. I told him maybe again for our anniversary ???

Re: Who wants to talk DISNEY WORLD?
yeah, although they're SO different it's a really tough decision. There's so much new at disney recently. And you can stay at the polynesian and have the best of both worlds..lolor...stopover for a day or two in LA and go to disneyland on the way to hawaii!
Edited for horrendous typos! Too much wine with dinner!

we LOVE DISNEY!!! We were just there for our honeymoon in november and we are already planning a trip back this year!!!!
the disney vacation club is such a great deal!! it's not your typical timeshare--it's an excellent system!
How long have you owned DVC?

Re: Who wants to talk DISNEY WORLD?
Dh and I are disney obcessed as well. We always need to know when we are going there next. We actually are trying to go twice this year. Our time share will allow for a trip in July and Christmas week hopefully! I am waiting for Southwest to release their summer rates!
