well his parents knew he was gonna propose..but we went back to his house after dinner and stuff and they gave us hugs and stuff..so yeah they were the first to know

fh told practacly everyone i knew..i called people and they were like i knew.. i was like grrr...the first people i told that didn't know would be my grandma

we were on a cruise when FH proposed.. so we called my mom first, then his mom and then my dad... He hadn't told anyone he was going to do it so everyone was as surprised as I was!!

my brother knew before anyone...but the first person that i told was my mom!

everyone knew it was happening that night! so aside from the people surrounding me when it happend i called my mom first

My Aunt since it happened in the parking lot of her Day Spa...

But when we got home - my entire family (and his w/ our best friends) werewaiting to celebrate!!

I called my Dad first. It wasn't a surprise to him or anyone else they already knew. I called my grandmother 2nd but my father already told her too!

Oh I love these stories!
My story:
I was a bartender at a bar with a pretty rough crowd - not your usual hangout. Anyway it was Valentines day and my boyfriend showed up with a dozen red roses and a box of diamond earrings! He came behind the bar and surprised me - and the filled bar. Then after I thought he was done, and I was thrilled with my earrings he had one of his friends jump behind the bar and take over for me. Then he took me into the back and told me he forgot to give me my other present. Well he could barely utter the words 'will you marry me' without crying. He pulled out the ring that I had my eye on when I worked for a jewelery company. I was stunned! So right then and there the whole bar knew I was permanently attached! They never really knew before!
The best part of the story is what he told me later that night. He stayed until I closed the bar and we went to breakfast to celebrate. He told me he had been at work the week before and it just hit him that he couldn't imagine living without me. So that day he went and bought the ring. He told a million people and showed a million people and he even had to take the ring back to be cleaned he showed so many!
So yes that is my honey, my fiance!
And I love him more today than I did when I said yes!

The whole fire department was there to see...but besides that we went right to my parents house and then his.

One of my good friends Denise, because she had some how randomly predicted that I would get engaged in October, so when it happened in October I had to call her and be like OMG you wont believe what just happened. I then called all my friends, my mom's cell phone was off and I was out of town so unfortunetly she was like one of the last people to find out. My dad was the first to know since FI asked his permission the night before.

My mom. We were on vacation and I couldn't wait to tell the world. I had to call my parents 1st.

My colleague actually, bc he proposed at like 12 on a 'school night' (I'm a teacher), so it was too late to call anyone and too early the next morning. I called my parents that afternoon.

HE THREW ME A SURPRISE BIRTHDAY PARTY. INVITED ALL OUR FRIENDS AND FAMILIES. AT MIDNIGHT HE PROPOSED IN FRONT OF EVERYONE. SO I DIDNT NEED TO TELL ANYONE!!!

My ex bf We were at the Bronx Zoo when it happened and I called everybody possible to tell them, but nobody was home, so the first person I got a hold of was my ex... lol I would have told anybody at that point

My mom, then my brother, then my dad, brother, grandparents, aunts and uncles, friends.

I called my parents, my sister, my best friend, then everyone else (was on the phone for about 6 hours!)
