Re: Woodbury Country Club Thread

I just finalized my menu last week. At cocktail hour there is sooo much food, your guest will be stuffed. Between the stations and the butler service it's sick. For one of our coctail hour selections we chose the pasta station. So we chose to go with the apetizer duet ( chicken mushroom vol-au-vent and a mesclun green salad) ..

Thanks for your help. Can you believe your day is almost here?

I totally agree there is definitly a lot of food at that cocktail hour. I see no problem with going straight to the cocktail to pasta and salad...but apparently my parents are accustomed to appetizer, first course, salad and then the main course (That is an italian family for you). Maybe I can work out one less station at cocktail hour and add another appetizer before the pasta at dinner. I guess I will find out tonight.

Here is a question for all past WCC brides and brides who have completed their menus.

I have my menu selection meeting tonight and I have a question. I should know the answer but I totally forgot some details since November. (When we booked the place. Wow that was awhile ago. ) Here's some background: My FH, parents and I were going over the menu last night and we are choosing the pasta and salad as our appetizer, but apparently my parents think there should be a different appetizer and then pasta as the first course. So now for my question.

I know there is appetizers and a salad section of the menu. I also know you can choose 1 appetizer and 1 salad or a duet combo. I was wondering, when guests go into the reception room after the cocktail hour is there some sort of antipasto set up?

I guess what I am trying to say (trying key word) is there something for guests to snack on once they enter the reception hall from the cocktail hour besides the appetizer/salad. If not, do you think it is something we can request?

Any help would totally be appreciated. TIA

Thanks for the information. Is there anything I should be asking during that meeting?

Re: Woodbury Country Club Thread

We asked for Olive Oil on the table (my family is Italian too and they love the bread/olive oil thing). I'm trying to think what else you would want on the table (food wise)... I think you're good!

Re: Woodbury Country Club Thread

I'm glad this thread was bumped up! I posted a question the other day about the menu setup meeting because FI and I are doing that on Monday. What exactly goes on there? Aside from the menu/cocktail hour and cake? what else do you do?

Thanks in advance!!

I was there yesterday, we discused how I wanted the room set up, if with oval or round tables. You go over some minor details, like if you are downstairs...what do you want to do about cocktail hour if it rains. If you expect children, who your vendors are, and where you are getting married. You get place cards and a few forms to fill out. But the majority of it is the food selections and the cake choosing. I was there for about an hour.

Hope this helps.

Re: Woodbury Country Club Thread

There is so much food at the cocktail hour, believe me your guests will be completely full!

I received many compliments about the cocktail hour, I doubt that anyone left there hungry.

I believe that upon arrival, there was champagne and strawberries served butler style to the guests as well.

WCC was amazing and I miss planning my wedding so much!

Re: Woodbury Country Club Thread

For you girls who said there was so much food at the cocktail hour, was that with the basic 2 hot stations (or whatever it is they offer...I don't have my contract in front of me) or is it because you guys got upgrades?

I'm so glad people are in this thread answering questions! You guys are helping me alot!

I wanted to ask what shuttle service people are using? We're staying at the Meliville Marriott and they recommend Elite.

Re: Woodbury Country Club Thread

The chocolate fondue station is what we are using. My BM recommended it over the chocolate fountain because it was less messy...and since it was included in the vienesse, it didn't matter to me.

Sorry couldn't been more help.

Re: Woodbury Country Club Thread

I didn't upgrade my cocktail hour. I have to check, but I think I had 4 stations, hors d'vres (sp) passed butler style, the bar, and the caribbean bar.

Re: Woodbury Country Club Thread

Hey WCC Brides. Congrats! I am new here and I was wondering if any of you are going with the Caribbean theme package at the Woodbury Country Club of if any of you had that package for your wedding day.

Thanks so much. I am so excited to get married at WCC. We booked last week and saw two weddings in action. It was AMAZING. You would never know that another wedding was going on and the Food was incredible.

Thanks for your help and I am looking forward to hearing from all of you.

Re: Woodbury Country Club Thread

I am getting married at WCC in 1/09. I would like to have a candle CP with icy branches around it, but FH thinks it is not going to look good because the upstairs room is big. I want to kill him anyone have pics so I can prove to him it will be fine.
