Wording on Invite for Family Style Reception?
Anyone having a family style reception and want to make a note about it on the RSVP card?I'm just not sure of the wording.
'Dinner will be served family style. A selection of continental cuisine will be offered.'

Re: Wording on Invite for Family Style Reception?
i dont know but i dont really think its necessary you have to point out on the invite that it will be family style. I wouldn't worry about this too muchsome reception cards say dinner and dancing, you could put family style dinner and dancing but personally dont think its necessary
most invites dont say what type of food there will be, i understand its family style so a bit different but also where you write continental cuisine, it doesnt have to go on the invite
if its something you really want to have though then yes you can write it on the reception card

Re: Wording on Invite for Family Style Reception?
I agree in that it doesn't need to be included on the invitation

Re: Wording on Invite for Family Style Reception?
I just feel like its really different than any of the weddings I've been to and a bit more casual ...But I think you guys are right, its not necessary.

Re: Wording on Invite for Family Style Reception?
Is the dress casual? If so, I would add that on there, like some people have Black tie Optional on theirs. But I wouldn't put anything about the food on the invitation.

let your guests be surprised and find out when they get there. Unless you want to ask for a specific dress code to be more casual, that you can write on the invite. Otherwise, once they get to your wedding they'll get the whole feel of it once they arrive.

if the dress is expected to be less casual than i would mention that...this is what we wrote on the reception card insert because of that...
ELEGANT BEACH CASUAL ATTIRE
come comfortable & classy
(heels are not suggested since we will be on a lawn)

Re: Wording on Invite for Family Style Reception?
I wouldn't put it. I have been to buffet style ones that never put that on there. If the dress code is different then mention that. But thats all.

Yeah, I added Garden Party Attire is Recommended on the actual invite.
We are in a party tent with flooring so heels shouldn't be a problem for the most part.
Thanks everyone, you made me worry less

my sister was going to, but her caterer swayed her against it because of the type of food they were having. She wasn't going to note it on the invitation. I dont think you have to. itll be a nice surprise touch.
