yeah i would def be mad.....thats just rude no matter how much money you make, and when her time comes im sure you wont be so low and not give her a gift

She probably doesn't realize ... or doesn't know better ... maybe her parents always give on her behalf

That's just it, her parents don't give on her behalf..
And her name was not put on either of the parents cards. So they aren't taking responsibility for it or her.

If she's mature enough to live on her own, I would hope she knows a card or gift is proper et.

For a shower? UMM hello, what does a bride do at showers? Open gifts!!! She coulda gave me a spatula!

She's always like 'omg.. I love you so much, you are the best.. etc etc. '

I probably would've been mad, but I wouldn't express it, just let it be, and then bring it up when needed.

i know how you feel...Alexs brother jerked us. Hes married and he and his wife were both in our wedding! Plus his nephew was there...so thats 3 ppl we got jerked from. Not to mention he makes over 100k a yr! just crazt and tacky if you ask me!

I would be infuriated...especially with her now being a part of your family
Maybe have DH talk to her, he can politely say...when we went over our cards and started writing up what gifts we had gotten from people we didnt check you off...i just wanted to make you aware in case you wrote a check-I wanted to let you know in case we mis-placed it...see what her reaction is. maybe she will chuck up and say i didnt give you anything...or maybe she will say 'oh SHIIIIIT i totally forgot'

i think its presumptuous to expect a gift from anyone. period. you have a wedding for your own reasons. if people want to give a gift, that's lovely. but who are you to demand one?
