Re: SPINOFF - Living with FH

We moved in together a few months after the engagement. We wanted the transition to be smooth once we got married.

Re: SPINOFF - Living with FH

We do not live together. I rent an apartment and he lives on his own as well. We are together all the time and I know that it would save a lot of money if we did. First off I dont think my parents would agree and secondly, I feel like everything happens already before the marriage.- I want to keep something traditional... I want to be able to move into a house with my husband.. it will give us something to plan and look forward to after the wedding... jmo....

Re: SPINOFF - Living with FH

Call me old fashion... I like the tradition of getting married out of my family home and moving in with my husband after we are married. Plus, we both live at home right now which is saving us A LOT of money and since no one is kicking us out, we are not going to give it up! Of course it is stil not COMPLETELY free, but at least it is not as expensive as rent! But I always sleep at his house on the weekends (or vice versa) and we have gone on many trips together. Also, whenever my family goes away he stays at my house and we 'live together' for the one or two weeks they are away. No doubts I won't be able to live with him once we are married. Plus, after dating for 6 years, you know everything about a person anyway - you don't have to live with them to know all of their 'annoying' habits

Re: SPINOFF - Living with FH

haha, this is funny.... fh and i were really great friends and each of us really wanted to get out of parents house, so we got an apartment together as roommates.. i think the feelings were always there, but we never realized it, and a few months later..boom.. he finally admitted his feelings for me( and i knew i had feelings for him, but kept them hidden), so we basically have lived togehter our entire relationship...lol i must say it was the best decision of my life and i have been in heaven ever since

We've lived together practically our whole relationship! This probably makes some people sick to their stomach to hear, but you know when you can't get enough of being around someone? Like, you just want to see them and have them with you all the time? Thats us! [/QUOTE

soo funny... we are the same way] it makes my friends sick to their stomach, when we go to work everyday, when we get home, we hug for like 10- minues like we havent seen each other in days, when its only been 8 hours...lol love it

Re: SPINOFF - Living with FH

FH and I moved in together in August., 8 months before our wedding. We were both renting seperate apartments, and would have had to pay extravagent lease breaking fees to get a place together after the wedding. We bought our house instead of continuing to rent.

We live in VA.

Re: SPINOFF - Living with FH

FH was staying in the guest bedroom of his aunt's house (long story) but was practically living at my house in my lil room. So it just made sense for the 2 of us to get our own place together.

I agree 100%. First because DH and I didnt live together before marriage, we were able to pay for our own wedding 11 months after we got engaged and buy a house 1 month before Our wedding with a big dp.

Second I love the tradition. My MOH lived with her DH for 2 years before getting married and she said after her wedding everyone would ask how married life was and honestly it was the same. I wanted my wedding to be the start of something new. I didnt want to just have a new name and for my life to seemingly be completely the same. I loved our first year together (with all the ups and downs). I wouldnt trade those experience for anything. And although you have them either way, I think there is just something so beautifully traditional about waiting.

Re: SPINOFF - Living with FH

FH was living in a tiny apartment, and me with my parents. At his company Xmas party, his friend offered me the tiny apartment in their new home, and FH said- just live with me (SHOCK- this is how he asks me, in front of everyone?!) So I said- his apartment wouldnt have room for my shoes.
His other friend lived here in Manorville with his wife, and the apartment next door emptied out. We moved in 2 months later! That was 2 years ago this June!
We grew so much closer after living together- I think it really does change a lot!
