No silly, I'm not blind!! The mets are just having their yeary spurt of luck.
But you see... and i'll be brutally honest... the Mets haven't even had a spurt of luck in the last two seasons.... period. Its been a long three years of pretty much utter failure. Not only on the field... but more importantly in the front office (GM). We finally got rid of the busts (Vaughn, Alomar) and replaced them with key role players like Cameron and Matsui. Hidalgo is the added bonus this year.
The Mets finally have built a team that is not only fun to watch, but actually competitive. Their new GM is finally *rebuilding* this team... and not only is he doing that... he actually made this team competitive way before any expert predicted.
I am very proud of where this team has gone and what they have done this season. I am not thrilled with our manager... but I am extremely pleased with what our new GM (Jim Duquette) has done.
Speaking of which... 1-0 METS to start the game.

Okay, here's an idea!
We all get together, choose up sides and have a softball game - Yankee fans vs. Met fans.
The payoff!
Sometime after the game we have to go to the stadium of the winning team. The loosers must chant 'lets go (who ever the winning team is)'.
What say you???
trust me, you don't want to see me engaged in physical activity of any kind -- i am terrible and wouldn't do my team proud
boosh can reporesnt though
Here Here. Can boosh be my representative, too???
Maybe the FH can be my representative...ummm, nvm I vote boosh. I will be the Yankee representative at the scoreboard.

I'll be a cheerleader, because y'all don't want me playing.
Or....
I COULD PLAY FOR THE METS SIDE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Now THAT's a good idea!
Sorry, Yankees need not apply. We want to win the game.
Unfortunately, thats the problem with the mets!! They always want to win, but just can never seem to be consistant and get the job done!!Unlike the yankees!! They always get the job done!!
UMMM, are you blind or have you not been seeing the score board the last couple of days. The METS are dominating everybody while the Yankees have been losing to teams like Detroit
No silly, I'm not blind!! The mets are just having their yeary spurt of luck. It happens every year, they start doing really good and actually have a winning streak. But, and theres a but here, they always seem to blow it. They always manage to end their winning streak with a big loosing streak that lasts the remainder of the season!! I don
t recall them being in the playoffs every year like the YANKEES!!!!
Maybe you dont recall the years 1999-2000, the years the Mets were in the playoffs

[Yeah I remember The Yankees beat them in the 2000 World Series.Im not suprised you would have a selective memory since that was the last time they won the World Series, even though they were in the WS in 2001 and 2003 and LOST

Re: Yankee/Met Rivalry
I was three in 78, when they won. I didn't go in 77. My Father was close to him, and Thurman was big into family. He gave my dad a hard time when he didn't bring my siblings and I. I was in my twenties when they won the rest of them.

We can play it like the allstar game, in a rotation if we have too many people
