Our last destination for the HM was Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe. Let me start off by telling you that Zimbabwe is a glorious country-but it is in poor shape. Their unemployment rate is at 80%. Tourism is their main industry. Tourism is very bad right now. We talked to many locals & got to know how they live… We must consider ourselves very lucky.

We stayed at The Victoria Falls Hotel. It was a beautiful hotel, very colonial, with lovely gardens & grounds. Baboons & warthogs roam the grounds freely, & we came in close contact with lots of them- it was fun!!!
The Falls were stunning they are one of the 7 natural wonders of the world!

The Falls - it's actually HUGE- this is just a tiny part of it.(not so great pics)

We also did a “wine tour” canoe trip on the Zambeze River. This was beautiful AND frightening. They promote it as taking a guided tour while drinking wine on a lovely river- which it WAS. HOWEVER, they forgot to mention that you have the danger of getting killed or eaten by a hippo or a crocodile!!!! Now we’re in this dinky little canoe, and there are hippos IN the river- I SEE THEM!!! So it was kind of like extreme canoeing!!!
(Hippos are pretty much the animals that are MOST dangerous to man in Africa). Just what we wanted to hear...

omg, I am in love, I think I found the next place I want to visit was it very expensive?


We did it on a more HM/Luxury level, so it wasn't cheap, but it doesn't have to be that way. It really depends on what you want to do.
The Rand is doing pretty well, so going there now isn't as cheap as it was a couple of years ago.

Olympus C-770 Ultra Zoom.
Got is esp. for the HM...
Still haven't figured the darn thing out!!!

So amazing...I never knew how beautiful South Africa was! My FH would absolutely love that place. He is so into outdoor adventures & wildlife!
You might have said this before, but I am still relatively knew to this website, what made you guys decide to go to South Africa for your HM?
P.S. I saw your wedding pictures & Review the other day...how beautiful!
