Classic Rock Father Daughter Dance?

I was just wondering if anyone had a suggestion for a good classic rock song for my father daughter dance. Looking for something fun and different. Not a fan of 'Butterfly Kisses' or 'I Loved Her First'.

Thanks!

Re: Classic Rock Father Daughter Dance?

LOVE that song, but FH and I are dancing to that as our second song. Was his idea, so I wouldn't want to ask him to change the song. Thanks though!

Re: Classic Rock Father Daughter Dance?

My parents have always danced to Stairway to heaven, and actually wanted to walk down the aisle to the opening chords until FH nixed that idea. Said he wants to hear here comes the bride when I walk down the aisle because that's how he's pictured it. Can't deny him that.

Wish my father and I had a song. Closest thing is Mamma Mia by Abba. Used to swing me around to that when I was really young. Just not a father daughter dance type of song Was actually going to see if i could have a 'family' song where me, my brothers and my parents all got up and danced to it. Those were some of the best memories...dancing to abba like lunatics then rocking out to Jethro Tull after.

Will have to check out all of these ideas from everyone when I get home. Thanks!!!!!!

This is a beautiful song - I never even thought of it for the Father/Daughter song but I'm going to run it by my dad!

Thank You, by Zeppelin? The words are actually better for first dance (it's ours) but, it can apply to a Father's love for a daughter, vice versa, and the big Thank Yoy you want to give him . . . .

You and I seem to like the same music, and had similar upbringings with the music played in our house. Your post really seemed like you'd been in our living room. My dad and I danced to a Jimmy Cliff song alot, but Mom and I cleaned (or she did, and I followed her) dancing to Abba and Creedence, while my brother, a rock musician played Zeppelin, Sabbath and Jethro Tull.

Re: Classic Rock Father Daughter Dance?

That is an amazing song. Played it and wanted so bad for it to be the right one, but just felt like it was more of a song for FH and I. GRRRRRR Now I'm going to go through all the Led albums to see what I can find. Maybe Jimi Hendrix too. Highly doubt Jethro Tull has something. The search continues. Thanks for the idea though!
