Re: Harrison House / Glen Cove Mansion
I looked there for my wedding-- driving up- the place is amazing- really beautiful. The ballroom is a slightly odd shape-- one half is round, the other rectangular-- IMO it would work better for a smaller wedding. Also- we (my mom) didn't love the guest rooms. But, the outside, and the pool and everything was really gorgeous.I believe the price they gave me-- for a sping Sat night in '05 started at $160pp.

Re: Harrison House / Glen Cove Mansion
I visited when it was still the Harrison House. I too felt the ballroom was an odd shape, but the bar is very cool feature and I loved that the hotel was there.I was really turned off by the person we met with, he didn't sell the place at all and was 1/2 hour late to meet with us. That completely turned me off. Hopefully they got rid of him and you're experience is better!

I looked there as well, it is beautiful from the outside and if the weather is good the pool area is great for cocktails. I didn't love the decor- it was a little too traditional (maroon's and hunter's) and the ballroom was oddly shaped.

my fh's mom got married there in 02. it is really pretty. she was supposed to have an outdoor ceremony but it rained. the indoor ceremony was beautiful and the reception room was very niceand it had access to the outside (it stopped raining immediately following the ceremony!) she did a continuous cocktail hour and the food was great. we have a lot of really great pictures from the area outside the reception room!!good luck!

Yes, I did visit the Mansion and had some guy named John, he was late (again) and was just to phoney and so into himself. The ballroom is really not that bad it is just different and most are looking for something different.

Re: Harrison House / Glen Cove Mansion
We looked there...It's absolutely gorgeous, but I do agree that the ballroom is sort of an odd shape. Also, the cocktail hour is outside by the pool if the weather is nice, but if not it's sort of split up into mutliple rooms. (That bothers some people, but I thought it was nice). They quoted us $185 per person plus tax and gratuity for a Saturday night in June 06...

Re: Harrison House / Glen Cove Mansion
We are getting married there and while the ballroom is an odd shape we thought it works given the character of the place. We have had nothing but positive experiences, even considering the management change. They have been willing to work with us and alter things to our needs and every vendor that they have recommended we have also had a wonderful experience with so far. We are getting married in July so I am finding out little by little as we go along. As for prices, I have no idea. It is not cheap I can promise you that, but specifics I am not privy to. They gave us a decent room rate and we are all staying there to make it a weekend event...also we wanted to actually spend time with our out of town guests, since we rarely get to see them.
If you ahve any specific questions FM me.

Be careful of this guy John - I have read and I am also proof that he needs a little polishing and so into himself. Be sure you get everything he says and promises you in writing when you go for your appointment. Good Luck

Re: Harrison House / Glen Cove Mansion
I had never heard of it when booking my wedding (probably because of the name/owner change) however, I found it by pure chance when looking for a hotel for my oot guests. We had procrastinated terribly on that and were really in a bind. . .however, Glen Cove Mansion was perfect. I don' t know about the ballroom. . . but the place is gorgeous. . . and the attic pub is very, very cute and perfect for hanging out at afterwards. I can't wait for my wedding at Westbury Manor (in the afternoon). . .but I also can't wait for the after hours at Glen Cove Mansion. . . I think you should definately check it out because it's got everything right there which makes it super convenient. . . 2 pools--indoor and out, racquetball court, bowling alley (very cute), walk to a beach, breakfast for everyone included in our package, perfectly normal rooms. . . maybe not spectacular, but who's planning on doing anything but sleeping in them anyway, etc. etc. etc. although I don't know the pricing, the room rates we got for a Saturday night in June were very reasonable. If I had found it while searching for my reception hall I definately would have considered it. . . Good Luck!!

I've also just seen it on the web and it looks beautiful. I called last week and got prices for 2007. Fri $200pp, 150 min; Sat $250pp 175 min. This was for an October 2007 wedding. It was way out of our price range.Welcome New Vendors
