I'm having a Viennese hour. I notice some people say Venetian hour. Is this a real thing? The same thing? Are they just saying it wrong and its Viennese?

theres only a viennese hour. Some people just get confused and say venetian but its wrong, or dh's friend actually always messes up and says vietnamese lol. Theres no venetian hour, but i understand why youre confused bc seems like i see more ppl say venetian than viennese.

Yea its only viennese hour. My friend also calls it vietnamese and i correct her all the time!

After dessert, more dancing commences, gifts are given, and the guests eventually begin to leave. In Southern Italy, as the guests leave, they hand envelopes of money to the bride and groom, who return the gift with a wedding favor, a small token of appreciation.

hmmm thats interesting. I remember when first engaged i was confused bc at RH's they all referred to it as viennese but alot of ppl said venetian and all rh's i looked at even just online it said viennese. Are there any rh's that call it venetian?

i looked it up and saw a place upstate that calls it venetian and sounds like the same thing. Maybe its places in NYC that call it viennese

Yeah I saw that too. Like the Oswego country club. Weird. I wish there was an expert to answer this, b/c this has been bothering me for months. Clearly I need to get out more.

its the same exact thing. we say Venetian in Brooklyn. lol. FH's cousins say Viennese.

That quote is from wikipedia so if someone thought it was Venetian -that is why they wrote it. . . anyone can edit wikipedia, doesn't make it right!

It IS Viennese though, although I call it both!
