Re: Mr. Met appearance/ Groom's cake
If you go to the mets website and go to the fanzone part there's actually a link to a number that you can call. It's $500 for an hour appearance. I am hoping that my date is doable because it's before baseball season, but they're not booking any 2009 dates yet until the season schedule is completed.

Re: Mr. Met appearance/ Groom's cake
I hired him for finace's 30th last January. Let me tell you an hour is plenty and he didn't take the 15min break. The $500 was well worth it and totally hillarious. My only suggestion is make sure he arives after people have been drinking a little. I had him come right at the beginning and people really didn't know what to do at first. Everyone got a lot of pics.

Yeah i def agree, if he does come to my wedding (which at this point im not sure since my wedding is in june) then i would prob have him come toward the last hour of the reception... when people have had more than enough drinks!

Re: Mr. Met appearance/ Groom's cake
I almost had him come to our E-party. He is $500 for the hour but, he is required to take a 10 minute break so you actually only have him for 50 minutes. They also charge traveling fees after a certain amount of miles away from Shea...I just didn't do it because I didn't think ti was worth it for the E-Party.

But if it happens to be on a weekend that they're away, then it shouldn't be a problem. The guy told me to call back in December and then they should have the 09 season firmed up. Good luck.

maybe he only charges brides extra lol b/c I calld him in the beginning of the year, and he was still $500. We were going to hire him for a BBQ and called earlier in the year to set it up,and we found out he was $500 , so we didnt book him. Maybe b/c it was just a b-day party it was $400??? That is weird lol

From the website:http://newyork.mets.mlb.com/nym/fan_forum/mrmet.jsp
Mr. Met will make any occasion 'Amazin'!'
For more information, please call (718) 559-3093.
I see that on my wedding day they will be playing Houston @ Citifield in the afternoon. I hope we can get him. I'd want him to come during cocktail hour. Hopefully they won't tank the season.
