The Inn at New Hyde Park

Hi everyone,

I just saw the Inn at New Hyde Park last week and absolutely loved it. The price was at the top of our budget which I could deal with because of how beautiful it was but it is the minimum that is killing us.

Has anyone been able to get them to budge on a Saturday night minimum of 225?

Thanks!!!

Re: The Inn at New Hyde Park

I loooove this venue and that was the reason I could not book there. I really don't want more than 125 guests and they would not lower it not even on a Friday.. But I think you can work it down to 180 from 225 if you choose a date that is not peak season..

Re: The Inn at New Hyde Park

I agree! I would maybe try and talk them down to 190-200 for a Saturday night. If not...maybe ask them if they would be willing to get your per head cost down a bit. Good Luck!

Re: The Inn at New Hyde Park

My only suggestion would be to negotiate with them. Lie even. Tell them you're looking at a similar venue (the royalton is a good one to name drop) and say they are offering you xyz and willing to accommodate your needs but you're really torn bc you love NHP, etc.... We did that and got our place down more then they were willing at first. Also, when I tried it over the phone they didn't really budge but said to come in and see what they can do... We came in and they did what we wanted once they knew we were willing to sign. Also, I've heard this from so many brides, if they think you have money to throw away and someone else is paying for the majority of your wedding, they are less likely to budge. Its why I was able to get a full menu and extras for a cheaper price then other ppl who booked around my timeframe.

We're having ours on a Saturday night in January 2014 and at first they agreed to do a minimum of 180, but we raised it to 200 to lower the price per head. They were totally fine with the lower minimum, but probably because it's off-season.

Re: The Inn at New Hyde Park

I think the lowest you'd be able to get it is 180. I actually ended up paying for people who weren't there (we got add ons for it), and I have NO regrets at all because that place was amazing

FH and I did this with East WInd. Giorgio's is one of their competitors so we told them they were offering us the world and EW was awesome with giving us what we wanted. We also offered cash, which in some venues helps.

Re: The Inn at New Hyde Park

I got married at The Inn @ NHP and they really didnt budge on our number, hopefully you have better luck then we did! Ours was 200 for a friday night, it started to look as though it was going to be 195 people and she still said they will just give us our dinners at the end of the night instead of just letting the 5 people slide. We ended up having 198 or something.. good luck!
