Brides who wore gloves.....

I am thinking that I would like to wear gloves, I think they look classy and are fitting for a February wedding.
My questions are:
How long did you wear them?
How did you do the ring exchange, do you take the glove off?
Do you think they are worth the $ if you just wear them for a short time?
Did you have your bridal party wear gloves also?
If you have any photos of you or your bridal party wearing gloves, can you post them please???
TIA!

Re: Brides who wore gloves.....

My best friend got married in November a few years back and wore gloves. She wore the opera length gloves. For the ring exchange, they cut a slit in the ring finger glove, so she just had to slip her finger out, put the ring on, then slip her finger back in. She also had us wear gloves as we were wearing sleeveless dresses. Sorry, I don't have any pics. If you like the look of gloves, I say go for it!

Re: Brides who wore gloves.....

How long did you wear them? Not long at all. I wore them since I left my house and then took them off to exchange the rings.

How did you do the ring exchange, do you take the glove off? Yes, I took them off when we exchanged the rings. And didn't put them back on for the rest of the day.

Do you think they are worth the $ if you just wear them for a short time? Yes, its a classy look. Just wished maybe I had more pictures with gloves on - I only put them on when I left my parent's house (after most the of pictures in the house, oh well)

Did you have your bridal party wear gloves also? I was going to have ONLY my Maids of Honors (my sisters), but they thought it was going to be a little hot for them, since it was a May wedding.

If you have any photos of you or your bridal party wearing gloves, can you post them please???N/A. I wore gloves that past my elbow a little.

Re: Brides who wore gloves.....

I wore elbow length gloves and loved them! I just love the look of gloves with a strapless dress. I took the left one off for the ring exchange and then put it back on and left them on all the way through the BM's toast. I bought mine at David's and they were inexpensive.
This is the best pic I have at work.

ETA: My MOH also had a strapless dress and she wore gloves that matched her dress. Sorry no pic here.

Re: Brides who wore gloves.....

I wore my gloves all day but took them off for the ring exchange. I periodically took them off throughout the day because people wanted to see my ring. Originally, I was dead-set against gloves, but my mom talked me into it. I am so glad she did- the gloves added a certain elegance....

Re: Brides who wore gloves.....

I wore the fingerless gloves. They just had a loop around the middle finger. I didn't have to take them off for the ring exchange and wore them for a good portion of the night. Very comfortable. Sorry, no pics yet.

Re: Brides who wore gloves.....

I plan on wearing 16-button opera length gloves with 3 button mousquetaire. They come 4 inches above the elbow. the mousquetaire is an opening in the wrist that has a 3 button closure. For the ring exchange you simply open the buttons, slip your hand out throught the slit, and tuck the hand part up into the rest of the glove. This way you don't have to keep taking your gloves off, or only have one finger exposed (which sometimes looks silly, JMO).

Re: Brides who wore gloves.....

I had gloves that went up to my elbows. They were white satin w/ a whole in the ring finger, so that I could wear the glove and show my ring at the same time. During the ceremony I took off the glove and then put it back on after that. I wore the gloves most of the night.

Re: Brides who wore gloves.....

I am a fan of gloves.......especially if they're worn with the right dress. My bridal party wore gloves, although I dont remember if most of them had them on the whole night or not.

I had fingerless gloves, and wore them all night long and so happy I did. When I look at pics, I realize the gloves kept on gave it such a classy look, especially w/ a No-sleeve dress. They were so comfy, I almost forgot I had them on, and my fingers were out, so its not like something was covering my fingers the entire time.

I'll try to post a pic of my BM glove and an example of mine:
