Catholic Brides -- Responsorial Psalms
I am having a lot of difficulty choosing a responsorial psalm that I like. What are some of the ones you all have chosen??? Some of the ones suggested for a wedding just don't seem right to me for a wedding. Any help would be appreciated b/c I am at a loss here. TIA.

Re: Catholic Brides -- Responsorial Psalms
Hi,I actually didn't pick an 'official' responsorial psalm, but picked something really nice that my church organist suggested. The song is called 'Like a Seal on Your Heart'...it's really beautiful and I'm sure you will be able to use it as well. I actually labeled it a Meditational Song on the program as per my organist suggestion. Ask your organist if they will play a sample for you...I'm sure you'll like the words.

Re: Catholic Brides -- Responsorial Psalms
Mine was 'Your love is like a Seal on my Heart' ...It's from the same reading as 'My lover is like a gazelle' ...
I didn;t use the reading, but I really liked the line 'your love is like a seal on my heart' so we used it in our responsorial psalm
'Put me like a seal over your heart, Like a seal on your arm. For love is as strong as death'

Re: Catholic Brides -- Responsorial Psalms
Here are the Lyrics. The music itself is beautifulSet me as a seal upon your heart
set me as a seal upon your arm
set me as a seal upon your heart
set me as a seal upon your arm
Love is as strong as death
jealousy is as cruel as the grave
it's flames are flames of fire
a most vehement flame
Set me as a seal upon your heart
set me as a seal upon your arm
set me as a seal upon your heart
set me as a seal upon your arm
Many waters cannot quench love
nor can the floods ever drown it
if a man would give for love all the wealth of his house
it would be utterly despised
Set me as a seal upon your heart
set me as a seal upon your arm
set me as a seal upon your heart
set me as a seal upon your arm

Do you know which Psalm # that is. I don't remember that being a choice for us. Thanks.

Re: Catholic Brides -- Responsorial Psalms
From this website, here are some more:http://www.eddy.mv.ru/lyr.dir/m/misc_religious/
As the sun is high so is My love upon you
4 (23):
As the sun is high so is My love upon you,
As the rain falls so will My love flow,
As the rainbow My promise for ever is true love among you,
So let My love flow from your heart.
If there be any love between us
42 (187):
If there be any love between us,
Let's keep this in mind:
Be kind, be kind.
And if there's any understanding between us,
Let's keep this in mind,
Be kind, be kind, be kind.
For a new commandment I give unto you,
That you love one another even as I have loved you.
Then all will know that you are My disciples,
If you love one another.
Love one another - that's what Jesus said,
So let's be kind and tenderhearted
To our brother who is our friend.
Let's live together, working out life in love,
Let's be sure our love endures to the end.
Sometimes love can hurt us
And the pain of the truth is real,
But let's remember that our Father
Is building His people with steel.
We are sons and daughters, children of the King.
So let's lay down our lives and feelings for our friends.
If your heart is right with my heart
43 (188):
If your heart is right with my heart
If your heart is right with my heart
The right hand of fellowship,
The right hand of covenant.
If your heart is right with my heart
Give me your hand.
If your heart is right with my heart
If your heart is right with my heart
We shall love in word and deed,
And be open to each need.
If your heart is right with my heart
Then we shall love.
If your heart is right with my heart
If your heart is right with my heart
One in heart and mind and soul,
One in purpose and in goal.
If your heart is right with my heart
We shall be one.
I have loved you with an everlasting love
47 (194):
I have loved you with an everlasting love
And have continued My faithfulness to you.
Again I will build you and you shall be built,
And I will be your God, says the Lord.
So arise, arise and let's go up to Zion.
Arise, arise and let's go up to Zion.
Arise to the Lord our God.
Again you'll adorn yourself with the timbrels,
And go forth in the dance of the merrymakers.
So plant your vineyards and you'll enjoy the fruit
And I will be your God, says the Lord.
Let us open up ourselves to one another
81 (323):
Let us open up ourselves to one another
For we need to confess our weaknesses,
To be covered by our brother's love,
To be real and learn our true identity.
For we are all a part of one another
We each possess a precious part of our Father's nature,
And together we'll become that perfect whole.
And God shall surely build His living temple
Of people set completely free,
Loving and appreciating one another,
Enjoying life in its entirety.
Many shall be drawn to us and wonder
They will drink from the stream of living water
Flowing out from the fullness of our lives.
So help us to understand each other in a new and living way,
But by speaking more freely and listening more clearly
We shall understand the spirit that's within.
Love one another as I have loved you
89 (355):
Love one another as I have loved you,
Be righteous, be holy, in all that you do.
Just seek Me, listen to Me,
With all your heart follow Me,
And I promise you shall not fall,
And I promise you shall not fall.
All My people shall dwell
In peaceful places,
And you shall walk in the paths
Of grace and quietness,
Trust and rest in Me,
Trust and rest in Me.
