If the dads are and the men in the BP are, then yes, the gentleman giving away the bride should be wearing a tux.

That's a great question! I never even thought about it. I'm having my Mom walk me down and then we'll meet my Dad in the front (he doesnt' walk well) but that's a great question.

I would say yes.

I would assume the gentleman giving you away should wear a tux. if its a female, then a nice formal gown.

I agree, my father did NOT want to wear a tux-he hates them-but I told him he had to. I think if everyone else is then yes the person giving the bride away should wear a tux

Every wedding that I have been invited to always had the person giving the bride away wear a tux.

My dad didn't wear one-- he's just not crazy about tuxes Its up to you, but I didn't feel that it was necessary at all

good question... my dad wants to wear one, but neither the groomsmen or my FH are wearing one, so i think it might look strange.

I think a nice dark suit is fine too if the guy isn't into tuxes....my mom & dad walked me down the aisle & my dad wore a dark jacket & kakhis...but we had a more casual beach theme...

I would say no.... all of my guys are going to be in black suits so no one will have a tux in my wedding....but I think as long as who ever is walking you down has a similar color suit on then it is fine.

there are no 'musts.' its entirely up to you and the style of your wedding.

we had a beachy themed, less formal wedding and my grandfather walked me down the aisle (my dad passed away in 04). and he, my step dad, and my FIL all wore the same thing but it was more casual. we didn't want any tuxes. since our colors were lighter the formalwear had to match that.

i love the casual light suit feel...but also the formal look as well!!! now i just have to decide....
