Italian Brides- First Dance

Are you ladies dancing to an Italian song or a song in English? If your picking an Italian song, which is it? I'm actually thinking I may go with Italian. I just can't decide.

We did both. Our first dance was Valentine. Then after we cut the cake we danced our second dance to Ti Sposero Perche. My FI doesn't speak Italian, but ever since I heard that song I said it would be my wedding so - so we incorporated it that way.

My FH is not italian either but we agreed to play at least 2 Italian songs, especially since i have 9 people coming for italy for the wedding.. it was only right to play something they can understand. One of the songs is called, Ancora Ancora Ancora from Mina and i love it... so passionate... another one from Mina that is really nice is Grande Grande Grande... i just bought the cd from virgin megastore here in the city so i can give it to the dj... i think the cd was called Amor mio

Since my DH is not Italian, we didn't use an Italian song for our first dance. I did however dance to an Italian song w/my Daddy (Laureta) to honor my heritage.

Both my FI and are Italian...and I really love the Bochelli(sp? bad I can't even spell his name) song vive per lei...We both really like it for our first dance song...
We hired an italian/amer band who can pull off the song though..

FH and I are both first generation Italian-American so we will definitely have italian music throught the night but our first dance song will be English as well as the spotlight song.

Oh but the last slow song will be Con Te Partiro! Can't forget that we'll have Ti Amo, Ti Sposero Perche, L'Italiano, Volevo Dire Ti Che Ti Amo, etc....

Hey, thank's ladies. My fiancee and I are first generation Italians and there will be many, many Italian speaking family and friend's. I've actually am thinking about 'vivo per lei' by bochelli or 'un amore grande' by pupo. Not sure if any of you have heard that song, but I absolutely love it. (the last one)

Tell me what you all think:
vivo per lei- bochelli, or
un amore grande- pupo.

You know what I love about 'Vivo per lei', the way the song proceeds....it starts off slow and then hits such gracious points.

The other song is really nice...if I can find a link with the music I will post it. You gotta hear it too.

You know the father/ daughter dance (Lauretta), if it's a band, they can change the name and insert your's, right? Has anyone done this before?

Don't feel bad, your not stupied. I replying to your other post w/o realizing its the same person I'm talking too. I wouldn't know what Kazaa was either if it weren't for my sister. It's this program that you can download music, (pretty sure it's free), you then put it in the search and it looks it up and then you click on it and it starts to download. Let me see if I can find you the website...I think it's www.kazaa.com, but let me check.

Ohh, 'piccolo fiore' is another nice father/ daughter dance.
