Re: Land's End vs. Flowerfield

oh boy

i don't want to choose!!! of course i'm partial to flowerfield but then it all depends on your personality-- land's end is so pretty and it's on the water but to me, i chose FF b/c it is unique. it is special and warm...

the CH is tropical and gives me goosebumps when i walk in-- the grounds are gorgeous, the place is so spacious and flows so well...

then again, land's end has the water-- it's pretty BUT if you have a crappy day it does you no good b/c you can't enjoy it...

idk-- both are beautiful, both are the same company so the food is the same at both, the service is the same-- everything is excellent.

it's all a matter of taste-- i have some pics of FF in my album-- maybe that will help you? all i know, is when i walked into FF it took my breath away and I started to cry-- I still get that feeling.

Vinny said it made the hair on the back of his neck stand up and he got goosebumps-- my family, friends, everyone who has ever been there just talks about how beautiful and different it is...

i have never heard a bad thing about either place so you should be good-- it's all about your style. i'm a romantic who likes warm tones and touches-- the greenery and the 'lush' grounds with the fountains and stuff-- the CH with the koi pond, etc etc-- it was pure elegance in a unique way so it actually made me choose FF over a few other places that had a 'mansion style'-- just b/c it's out of the ordinary in a nice way.

HTH, sorry-- it's a tuff choice!

good luck-- let us know!!!!

Re: Land's End vs. Flowerfield

Honestly, I have never been to Lands End. I have been to Flowerfields and loooved it. That is where I was thinking of having my reception but my cousin is getting married in May 2007 and I did not want to have my reception at the same place that she was.

Good luck with your decision.

Re: Land's End vs. Flowerfield

I have never been to Flowerfield but I just fell in love with Land's End. I wanted something that was not overly elegant but very charming and set on the water and it was just perfect. Another big thing for us was location, which is closer for you? Land's End was the only hall I liked that was not over half an hour away.

Re: Land's End vs. Flowerfield

Okay, I have been to both places and it's definitely a tough choice. The food is awesome either way so you can't lose on that. Personally, I think it depends on what you want.

I had originally booked Lands End. FH and I are both real beach/boater bums so we wanted something on the water. I LOVED that place but we did not have a good experience with the company, so we decided to move our wedding. Then I went to a wedding there. It was great BUT it was pouring out. I felt like it lost a lot of it's charm on such a dreary day and to know how much my friend paid and to lose out on having the outdoor CH and the ability to be outside was a total bummer.

Nothing can beat the uniqueness of the Flowerfield CH room...it's awesome. If you want to wow people and/or not have to think about the weather, that's the way to go.

If the water is what appeals to you, definitely do Lands End and then continue to do a rain dance until the big day...LOL. If it doesn't matter to you, if the water is not the appeal at Lands End to you, then go to Flowerfields. Good luck! You are going to be very happy either way!

Re: Land's End vs. Flowerfield

Ive been to both!! Both absolutley breathtaking!!! Two really great choices!! Heres a few things you can think about....Lands end is great because you can always go back at ANY TIME and sit near the place on the water and bring back memories of you both, You can bring your children there and walk on dock. Plus thley always have brunches going on during some points of the year.

My 1st inital thought was FF, but we saw Lands End over the weekend and reallly liked it too...I think we're going w/ FF- we have the day on hold

I'm taking my parents and FH father on Sunday to both to get their HO- if they like one over the other, we'll go to 21 Main and try the food for dinner, then if all goes well- ITS BOOKED!!!

Re: Land's End vs. Flowerfield

I had my wedding at Land's End and my sister got married at FLowerfield. I love the beach, so I knew I wanted to get married there. My sister got married in late October, so FLowerfield was a better choice. They are very reputable and the food is the best in both places. It just depends on what type of mood you want to set. My guests keep raving about Land's End because it is like having your wedding at a big house. There are different rooms that your guests can hang out in. I do agree with the weather issue. If the weather is bad, Land's End is not as appealing. You can't go wrong with either choice.

Re: Land's End vs. Flowerfield

yes I am partial to Lands End....I just loved it..it really depends on you and Fh's personality and which style of venue caters to you...

Fh and I love the water...we are constantly on the boat, swimming, water skiing and tubing..

FlowerField is gorgeous....I loved the cocktail room but i thought the ballroom was a little plain and i figured the guests will be in the ballroom for the majority of the reception.....

Lands end just seemed to suite our needs and we just loved the view from the ballroom. we wanted our guests to really appreciate the view as well. we loved the idea of takin pics on the rocks and near the beach.

The cigar room was on of my favorites and i love the whole idea that both places are one wedding at a time...

Again...both have the same caters - Lovin Oven and i really dont think you can go wrong with either of them. definitely take your time. i think you have 5 days to hold it..at least that it what they told me.

good luck...you will make the right decision

It depends on your personalities. We looked at both and fell in love with Lands End. We love the beach and the water. My wedding was there and it was outstanding! Check out my review for full details and my album for some pictures.

Re: Land's End vs. Flowerfield

Well from seeing the outside of them yesturday, and knowing the prices, I'm leaning toward LE. I liked the outside better and from what you described, even the inside sounds nicer... KEEP IN MIND- rain or shine- your 5 HOUR RECEPTION will be in the BALLROOM!

You know which direction I'd go... [cheaper!!!]

I really wanna see the insides though before i really give u my 100% honest opinion
