On a sunny beatiful day, it POURED in Eisenhower Park today! (my wonderful bridal shower in The Gatsby Room @ The Carltun) WITH TONS OF PICS INSIDE!!!!!!!!!!!

My Bridal Shower was TODAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!


It was not a surprise so I had been a little nervous and jittery over the last few days, stressing out about what to wear, running to DSW to buy shoes once I picked the outfit.

Let me tell you though, everything about the day was so absolutely AMAZING. My mom and all my bridesmaids worked soooooo hard on everything, and it was just PERFECT! I am still in awe over everyone's generosity.

The food and the service at The Carltun are both outstanding, I couldn't have asked for anything more. The room is gorgeous, and so elegant, and was absolutely perfect for the group we had (about 40 people). And the food was delicious too!!!!!!

The color scheme was pink & brown, which I love – but FH didn't want anything pink at the wedding – so Mom decided to do PINK for the shower!

So .... without further ado .... here are pics of the room and the patio:

And the baskets!!!!! They made me 4 different baskets!!! There was 1 that was candy related (snickers, hugs & kisses), one that was household product related (brawny, joy, shout), a wine basket and a candle basket:

One of the most amazing details is the cookbook that everyone helped collaborate on. My cousin Jenna did all the compilation and the assembly, but the recipes were contributed by all my family and friends. The book is absolutely gorgeous, and I can't wait to try making some of them!




And I have to say that I really think the FAVORS were one of the best parts of everything – UMBRELLAS that say 'Jessica's Bridal Shower.' The story behind this idea is that about 90% of the time when FH & I leave the house together IT RAINS!!!




Also, instead of the typical paper plate hat, my MOH brought a straw hat to use. And my super crafty Aunt made the prettiest one I've ever seen – it even had a veil!


Last, but not least, here is a pic of my amazing bridesmaids. Unfortunately, since 1 of them lives in California, she obviously couldn't make it to NY for the shower.

Congratulations! Everything looks great! I've always loved the idea of umbrellas for shower favors but those are so cool because they're personalized!

OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!! My eyes just popped open as I read your review! On Thursday afternoon I went w/ my friend to Invitations and Beyond. I noticed this man wrapping these gorgeous boxes and at that moment I said to my friend--'I want umbrellas wrapped like that as my wedding favor.'

Then guess what? I realized those were YOUR favors! Gorgeous girl! What a coincidence!

Ok, you missed my favorite part!! The 'How well does George know Jess' game where a video camera was taken all over town to different stores to see what flavor ice cream would Jess choose at Cold Stone, what color lipstick at CVS, etc...
