I need to write out TY's for the gifts we received from guests who could not attend our wedding. What are some good things to write?

I might have said something like: we're so sorry you weren't able to attend our wedding. Thank you for your very generous gift. It was so thoughtful of you to remember us on our special day.

It was something along those lines, I can't exactly remember.

Just out of curiousity, did your guests who could not attend, send their gifts with their response cards.........OR did they wait till your wedding to mail/give to you?

Both, but most were sent after the wedding.
