the same thing happened to me. But I bustled my own dress quickly. I put them all on the right hooks so technically it was bustled correctly. Only thing is after it was bustled you had to put these two points in and pull the middle part yourself with your hands. I did it quickly during pics and didnt notice until we got to the hotel at the end of the night, that the middle part wasnt really showing and just wasnt how its supposed to look. I did get one pic in the hotel room, made dh take a pic so i can have just 1 that shows it properly.

Its ok, i just figure that most ppl probably wouldnt have paid too much attention regardless.

I can see why it bothers you, but you looked absolutely stunning on your wedding day and the dress looked gorgeous, didnt effect your whole look at all.

I had the same problem. My Matrade and DOC helped do my Bustle and they never turned in the points. they were supposed to fold them in. And they never did that. But it didn't look that bad. And I didn't even notice. I just wanted to have a good time.

You girls are gonna make me run back to my parents and take a look at my bustle!!! I'm second guessing if my bridal attendant did it right. But all you girls looked gorgeous regardless of the bustle being off!!!
My biggest issue was with my RH and florist, I hold both responsible for my CPs not being set up properly. They were missing the hanging votives and crystals, it didn't have that romantic setting I was looking for. I used a suddle color scheme because I wanted the CP to be the main focus on my table set up.

I actually attempted to prevent the cake topper from ending up next to the cake, rather than on top of it, and I also attempted to make sure that the ribbon we used wouldn't get all nasty from the cake oils. I got nasty ribbon and the cake topper became a table topper.

I also would have gotten more posed shots at my parents house, and somehow wrangled more of my guests to use the shuttle I paid for.

All and all, my wedding was perfect and I really should not complain. BUT…. I have one thing that still bothers me to this day that I really didn’t notice until I saw our raw footage from the video. (this may sound silly to some!)

My Bustle was not bustled right at the wedding. I spent all of this time with my seamstress designing my bustle. I decided to do a low French bustle with many points. She also turned my champagne sash into this big bow. It was the most beautiful bustle I have ever seen. It was really puffy with a lot of layers and then on top sat this big bow. Also very $$$$$! I loved it so much.

Anyway, at the wedding my bridal attendant bustled it for me really fast. Within 5 minutes it was done and I didn’t think anything of it (A pro-yeah right!). That is until I watched my video. I just about cried when I realized it was sloppy and just pinned up any which way. I ran upstairs to my dress at this point and turned it around and there was that sloppy bustle. I fixed it right then and there, a little late!!!

The worst part if this all is that my seamstress was at the wedding. She didn’t even say anything (FH's older cousin). My SIL was the only who knew how to bustle if from my seamstress and she didn’t even notice the day of and then had the nerve to say 'that is disgusting' when we watched some of the video. I don’t know why this still gets me so upset every time I think about it. I mean, everyone else says they didn’t even notice. I still always get upset about how beautiful it could have been.

I know there are bigger things to worry about, but I guess I just needed to vent. Maybe this will help me forget it!!!

You took the words out of my mouth, i made a post about this after i got my raw footage and it made me nauseous.
I spent so much time going over it with my seamstress and in the end i had taken off my gown so much, i should of just done it myself. It makes me so sick i cant even watch my video, im sick thinking about it now

SOOOOOOOOOOO many things went wrong day of. don't even know where to start, but the important part is that we're married, made a year and still going strong!

If ti makes you feel better:

-My dress was too big in the bust and fell down due to shoddy seamsterss work-crappy minor boning. (mind you that was only the first of MANY issues with my dress)
-My dress bustle wasn't done rght so we couldnt bustle it despite the many pics we have of my mom's oldest childhood friend underneath it trying to bustle it.
-My heart necklace that I wore to the RH but didnt wear at the wedding (was in the room) was 'misplaced' by the staff when they without permission moved our stuff to a CLOSET downstairs WITH A WET FLOOR to make room for another bride...
-The roof leaked over the thr hrad table onto my head for most of the night
-The ice sculpture was nowhere to be seen
-The cake filling was wrong after telling them 100 times and EMAILING the exact filling and them assuring us it would be so.
-My family are crazy inconsiderate LATE people and got me to the RH a 1/2 hour before the ceremony rather than 3 hours before so DH and I could do the meeting brforehand and take nice pics.
-The photographer screwed up on the quality when shooting our formal portraits-they look fine untill you try and elarge them. Then NO DICE. nevermind I have like NO formal pics of me and my mom alone or me and my dad alone and the one with my brother his eyes are closed....
-The tablecloths which I was assured were full length, were SHORT and th aful tacky metal legs of the table poked out from beneath.

Just anything that could go wrong went wrong but seriously, it all turned out ok in the end. Try not to dwell too much. It will only upset you and you cannot go back.

not pulling pins out of my hair - don't know what i was thinking - which caused my hair style to come down a lil in the back but luckily it wasn't until the end of the night - 95% of pics were done so no biggie but how stupid was i?!

i should have gotten an SUV limo for the BP - vin and i loved our classic car (the diamler convertible) but i didn't love the look of the SUV so i went with 'look' over size and -- looking back, i should have just had the bigger, the better so the BP's comfort would be maximized. again, luckily, it was literally a FIVE minute drive from the church to the hall so not a huge deal either.

i should have had my brother come to my parent's house in the AM while we were getting ready -- i had plenty of pics of him and i which was fine but looking back on it, my mom and i didn't even think to ask him and my nephew to come - maybe b/c he's a guy? it didn't dawn on us but it would have been nice just to have him and christopher there -- we were talking about that like TWO days before my brothers accident and now i feel bad but i still have so many pics with him - it's was more about his presence. maybe i was worried it would be too hectic with my nephew running around? who knows!

other than that - and those are pretty darn minor LOL i had to really think haha - i have to say, i'm a very lucky person but everything went off perfectly, without a hitch. i guess i would have stopped my dad from slamming my cathedral veil in the limo door hahaha but it wasn't a huge deal either - a little stain remover and no one even noticed. so, yeah i was a lucky duck - everything was beautiful and went very smooth.

we had the time of our lives so that made it alllllll worth it.

During planning there were three vendors that I wanted to change - I ended up only changing one.

I wish I had listened to my gut and changed the other two. I wouldn't be crying myself to sleep at night if I had.

me and dh took dance lessons for our first dance, the day before the wedding we were busy packing so we started practicing in the evening until it got dark.. the second it did, we started getting bit by mosquitos but i said we have to just keep practicing! well, i got about 6 bites on my back and two on my arm and i blow up from them. but to make it worse, i forgot to tell my makeup artist the next day, to cover them with make up at least and no one reminded me! i cant see my own back or my own side of my arm!! so the bites are noticeable in some pictures and even though everyone loved our dance, you can see red dots on my back and my arm in the video, i was so happy that day, i didnt notice or think of it, but now i do!

I would have had it not rain (though we got some good pics in the rain that I'll post when I get!).
Also, there were some weird flowers on top of my cake. I would have left them off.
I would have lost my armpit fat.
I wouldn't have pinned my bangs back weirdly after we went in the rain. I ended up with some funky hair by the end of the night.

BUT - it was still the best day of my life and I was tickled to death!

glad i'm not alone!!!

i should have given the photographer a list of must takes but not sure if he would have used it anyway.. the timeline wasnt even used.. so some shots we wanted we didnt get which i thought were normal shots and they were not done - a full length shot of DH and I facing forward alone, me with the groomsmen, dh with the girls.. us with the FG and RB.. i can go on but i'll stop....

my veli was driving me crazy the whole time.. i should have just taken it off and put it on again further back on my head.. didnt think of that the day off - duh?? guess cuz everyone kept saying just leave it..

should have been more specific with certain vendors and changed one that i wanted to change but didnt want to lose my deposit..

oh well!
overall it was a success only we know about the little things so no biggie...

I didn't love my dress. I felt like an alien in every dress that I tried on; I was never 'that girl' who pictured her wedding and dress; I hated poufy dresses and I was SO insistent on not making my mom spend thousands of dollars the way she did for all three of my sisters. I got so sick of trying on dresses and just decided i wasn't going to be that girl that was like oh so in love with her dress and i'll only wear it once blah blah blah. And i was so anti-strapless because I was sick of it, but now I think it probably would have looked pretty good on me. So I guess I sort of settled on my dress; it was pretty but not amazing. I might have done something different with my hair too. didn't love it.

I might have done a little more research on photographers too and been more specific with what i wanted (as if I knew); I should have put a must take list together - I just let them go with it and there are not many close-ups of me and DH where my hair is not in my face or i'm not squinting. I'm just not all that crazy about my pictures.

That's really it I guess. Looking back I may have insisted more on getting married upstate like I wanted, or having a winter wedding like I wanted, but that was really no big deal and DH was so proud of how budget conscious i was (intent on blowing all our money on the HM instead ).

the only thing that really gets me to this day is my hair. overall i liked it but it caused some delays the morning of the wedding.

i had my hair trial with nicole d'angio. i loved her and booked her on the spot. when i looked at pics of my trial ( half up and half down) i thought, hmm, it could look a little neater.. i loved it in person but was not crazy how it photographed for some reason. plus i didnt have a headpiece.

i had expressed my concern over the phone but there was no way i could make another trip out there between timing, schedule etc. but she assured me that we could modify it and it would be fine..i wanted the same style after all, just a little neater..

So the day of the wedding comes and i could kick myself for not going back for a 2nd trial to make sure it was perfect along with my headpiece.
Nicole ended up spending so much time on my hair b.c i wasnt happy with how it was coming out.

it really had me nervous when she kept trying adjust my hair to my liking but wasn't working for me..
and it didnt help that i started feeling rushed toward the end b.c i think she had another bride to do and had to leave. so it was now or never b.c she had to leave.
i finally ended up liking my hairstyle but then i had to rush to get ready and leave to go to the church.
i didnt end up getting many pictures at the house or with my mother. :(

i feel like there are some pics where my hair looks sloppy , like at the reception hall, but other pics where i absolutely love it.

other than my hair, i wish we did not go to our cocktail hour b.c guests kept coming up to us and all we wanted to do was eat... the only thing i got to eat at cocktail hour was a mozzarella ball that my husband fed me! all that great food!! we were dying to try it!

I wish my dh listen to me about bringing a photog. with us. I love my pics but I think someone else could of done a better job. I wish I didn't listen to my sil about certain things, like shoes. I should of just dyed them the same color as her dress. I wish she never kicked the photog. out of my room when we were getting ready since I did not get any ready shots. I am upset that the photog and video guy did not come with us when we eat, since I don't have the bm speech on tape. But overall is was the perfect wedding week.

It just succks, you know? Two years of planning - being on the MOST helpful LI wedding website and STILL ending up disappointed over things which you definitely had control - suckks big time.

There aren't any of us LOOKING at the camera either... But I am sure some of them are pretty great to another person - just not to us, you know?

I'm going to need massive amounts of outside help to choose album pictures and blow up shots because I'm rather disappointed.

thanks... it's true we are our own worst critics; we have some decent shots (but like you said, I wasn't like wow, that's a great one for the big picture). I kind of feel like I had two photogs and instead of some traditional and some photojournalistic there were NO traditional. All random, candid type pictures. I mean, like 1 close-up, maybe.

it's one of the reasons i didn't do one picture for our thank yous. I did six small ones because there was not one that I'd have wanted plastered over the whole card. Oh well.

I didn't even see any of your pictures; did you post them? what about honeymoon pics!

i love your pics from your album and i think your dress is stunning!!!!!

i have to agree that i also feel that sometimes there is an overload of photojournalistic pics and not enough standard pics.

i love my pics but i dont really have a good shot of us looking at the camera- we have one but i do not like the background really... but atleast we are looking at the camera and not at eachother...

it was hard to pic something out for the parents...

i made sure i ate throughout the entire night....BUT there was a mixup with time - and we ended up getting to the RH JUST before the CH hour....i never got to see the room, and the hubby & i never got to go around a pick what we wanted because we were taking pictures(which we had planned to do way before, but because of the mixup we we doing them during the ch). Forget about it...ALL we heard about was how the CH was one of the most amazing parts of our wedding and 'OMG U JUST HAD TO SEE IT...THE FOOD THE FOOD etc. etc...' makes me upset that 1) we never even got to see the room, and 2) only tasted the display that the bridal attendants took care of...which was yummy, but NOTHING in comparison to everything that JT did at the CH..especially that there were a lot of extras & special things thrown in because of our relationship with the general manager...can't even talk about it 'cause it's getting me upset lol

other then that, the only thing i would change was the amount of time we took to say hello to everyone...(again, would've accomplished this at the CH)..i remember as we were going around being like 'oooh i wanna DANCE to this song!) it was nice to see everyone that was there, but we could've figured something else out i'm sure..

other than that, everything was AMAZING..i was pleased with all my vendors, and everything went smoothly other then the time mixup! we really had a phenomenal day
