My bridesmaids got me a group gift and individual gifts..I think my sister (Moh) asked everyone to contribute like $80 each towards the luggage they got me. And, than each of them, went on their own and got me some other (more personalized) things..which was very nice of them..
This was for the shower..
For the wedding, they each gave me seperate money gifts..
Completely the same situation. Luggage set and a seperate gift. They also contributed towards the shower. I thought they went overboard!

I got a group gift from all my bms but 3 of the six got me an 'individual' gift. One made me a shadowbox with my invition in it, One got me a pair of candles sticks and a personalized throw with our names and wedding date. and the other chipped in with the best man to get us a new TV.

For my shower a group gift - a computer. Two of them got us another little present. For the wedding, individual gifts.

We got a group wedding gift. 4 of our groomsmen got us a keg-a-rator! The girlfriends of these guys (2 were in my BP) got us TIVO and a subscription for it.But shower we got separate gifts and from the rest of the BP (we had 6 on each side) got us individual gifts!

individual gifts. I've done the group gift many times, I'm not a big fan but I go with the flow

yes but from his family. His 2 sister gave me my $20.00 sheets for my shower.
For the wedding I his 2 brothers, 2 sisters and significant others and his nephew. So a total of 8 (don't rally count the nephew) gave us our pots and pans, which were already given at the shower to us. Mind you our set was on sale for $80.00.
