Did you get a 'group' gift from your bridesmaids (or bridal party) for your shower or wedding?

I've been wondering about this. Each of my bridesmaids gave me a shower and wedding gift. But, I recently found out that one of them was appointed to get a 'group' gift together. She was told to collect any amount, even $5 per bridesmaid, just so they could give me a gift from 'the girls'. But, I guess she called one person and asked, 'Did you buy a bridal shower gift yet?' When the person said, 'yes', this bridesmaid just said 'okay, forget it then'. So, there was never a group gift. This information made its way back to me because the person who put her in charge was disappointed with the outcome. (She didn't do it herself because she was doing a lot of other things to help out and didn't have time)

edited to add: my mom paid for my entire shower

My BM's gave me individual shower and wedding gifts but they all chipped in evenly for my shower.

I didnt get individual gifts, I got some lingerie and a microwave.

My MOH and my BM's except for one got me a group gift at the shower - a digital camera. One of the BM's, I guess, didn't want to go in on it and got me a gift on her own. I know they also paid $$$ towards my shower - obviously I don't know how much.

ETA - I got very generous individual wedding presents from them.

They paid and organized the shower themselves and together brought DH and I our luggage....and gave me a 'panty' line

My girls all chipped in and got us a digital camcorder as my shower goft (besides helping pay for the shower!). It was very generous of them!

I only got a shower gift from one of my girls, but I got small gifts from all my girls for our wedding.

My bridesmaids got me a group gift and individual gifts..I think my sister (Moh) asked everyone to contribute like $80 each towards the luggage they got me. And, than each of them, went on their own and got me some other (more personalized) things..which was very nice of them..

This was for the shower..


For the wedding, they each gave me seperate money gifts..

I only had 2 bms, and for the shower they each teamed up with their moms for a gifit & for the wedding, I got an indivual gift from MOH & her hsuband & my other BM is only 16, so I got a gift from her , her paretns & her brother.

The groomsan gave a joint gift from the 2 of them (they are brothers) and their girlfriends.

I was a BM once & gave a group gift ( a penoir set) & my own gift for the shower & my own gift for the wedding. I didn't help with shower at all.

My mom also paid for my shower.

Each girl gave me separate gifts for my shower and wedding.

I had 2 MOHs and they threw the shower for me (I think they got some monetary help from my dad but I'm not even sure), and they got me a beautiful shower gift together. They each gave me seperate wedding gifts.

I got a group gift for my shower, which my sister (MOH) organized. They got us our bedding set, which I was really excited about! Aside from my sister, who is 11 years older than me, my girls weren't asked to contribute to the shower, as they are all young, in school and just starting out.

Everyone bought individual wedding gifts.

For my shower I got group gifts, but for my wedding I got individual gifts.

I wouldn't be upset about it. The BM that was designated to get the gift probably thought that idea was gone once everyone started buying individual gifts. It was probably just a misunderstanding.

I would be more upset about the BM that is telling you about this now. What is the point of getting you upset?

I wouldn't worry about it either. I got individual shower gifts from *most* of my BMs and individual wedding gifts from *most* also. My mom also paid for my shower.
