Re: RE: Constant borrage of 'When are you getting pregnant?'
I get it all the time. I was even asked this weekend if I am on vitamins by my MIL's friend! People are so nosey they should mind there own business, I feel like since we got married that our sex life has become an open forum.

OH I hear ya! My MIL and DH's grandma keep on me... and I always hear it at work too! It makes we want to keep it secret for a long time when I finally am pregnant.

Ughhhh, this is my worst pet peeve ever!!!!! I just tell them I'm on the 5-year plan - you know, I still have about 5 years of other stuff to do, such as getting my Master's Degree, traveling, etc.........
I am getting the same comments everyday. I am currently getting my Master's. People will say don't wait until you get old. I am only 26 these people have some nerve. I want to wait until 5 years.

It's sooner than you think!
But really, I'm 24 and I can barely tie my own shoes (that's a metaphor, you understand). Add a kid into THIS mix?
I'm getting a puppy after we move. A Redheaded poodle, named after one of the Weasleys. If anyone wants to throw me a puppy shower, let me know.

I'm with you, Rach...on the 5 year plan. I'm 25 and still have to finish grad school and start my career.
It's really important for me to have the time to enjoy married life and get some degree of financial stability before having kids.

Re: RE: Constant borrage of 'When are you getting pregnant?'
I am a complete planner, and it always seems as though my non planning family and inlaws are always asking, I would love to give them the real deal about how they are broke, and probably should have waited a few years before reproducing. It is all my inlaw talk about. between me waiting and not having kids at my reception, they are convinced DH married Miss Hanigan

Re: RE: Constant borrage of 'When are you getting pregnant?'
UGHHH.... I work in a supermarket. There are certain Customers who are 'regulars' they always come in and always talk to you. Well there are these two regulars. One is a guy who when I first started working there was really mean to me and i told him straight out u arent bothering me by being mean I go home in 3 minutes. He laughed and thought it was the funniest thing. He came in last week and said so any thing new and pointed to my belly... UMMM NO... And if it were would I tell u?Then there is this lady she is so Sweet. She use to always come in and talks to me. We talked about my wedding and she actually came to the church. She bought me a wedding gift she is so nice. She asked me the other day So any surprises?
The truth is Mike and I kinda have been trying. We threw out the protection the night of the wedding. The last few months I have only been marking down the times that I might be 'O' And nothing yet. No one knows this though. And I don't even want to tell my parents till I am at least 3 months. Mike also had major health problems so this is a really big concern of ours. What IF we CANT? Do you know how bad I would feel if people asked that and we couldnt.

Not to change the subject... but why are NY apts so dog unfriendly??? We're trying to move to VA or MD and almost every apt complex allows dogs. WTH?
Yeah, we're waiting till the 3 month mark to tell anyone also.

Because NY apts are also People Unfriendly. How can anyone expect their dogs to be welcome when they themselves are not?

Seriously, how many apartment complexes ARE there on Long Island? How many can people live in if they are not senior citizens? And finally, how many are affordable for people who only make enough to afford living in an apartment????????????
Seeing as people on Long Island who live in apartments are pretty much forced to live in converted portions of other people's houses, legally or illegally, is it any wonder that dogs are generally not allowed?
Having recently been to MD and VA, I can tell you that there are a LOT of apartment complexes to choose from. There are 'Move-in specials' and incentives to make you choose their specific apartment complex. They are more welcome to dogs because they HAVE to be to stay in business.

You shoulda just done like me and gotten knocked up on the honeymoon -- didn't even give them a CHANCE to start asking.
The best part is... now when I get the question from people who don't already know I'm PG... I just say 'I already am!' The looks on their faces are priceless!!!

Re: RE: Constant borrage of 'When are you getting pregnant?'
Honestly, IMHO I'm really SICK of the 'When are the babies coming?' or 'When are the children coming?' It's a very private and personal issue between a married couple and no one else's business. IMHO, it's not even the parents' decision or business. It really angers me when being asked such a private and personal question and to have other married couples with children to pry and push us to TTC faster. Personally, only you AND your DH knows when you're ready and by being ready it has to be ready on all levels/aspects of life: financially; emotionally; professionally; housing (kid-friendly housing environment and is there enough space for your addition to your home?); personal goals???? I ask myself these questions and NO I am not ready for such an enormous life service responsiblity.Welcome New Vendors
