Re: When looking back on your wedding day...are you %100 happy with the way things turned out?

100%? nope. But I honestly cant think of anything that Im ever 100% happy with that has any importance. Im just too much of a nitpicker to be perfectly happy.

There are things that bother me but I know they were not that important in teh scheme of things. More than a year later, I am still annoyed by those little things but they seem even more insignificant.

I was VERY happy on my wedding day. It went so well. There are little things I could nitpick about, but why bother?

Re: When looking back on your wedding day...are you %100 happy with the way things turned out?

Our wedding day was one of the best of my life, the planning was stressful and at times I couldnt wait for it to be over so perhaps looking back I did make some mistakes. Overall, my vendors were superb and my family and friends did so much for us to make it a truly special day. That said, of course there are things I wish I did differently and I think that is only natural when you look back knowing there are other things you could have done, I tend to nitpick my wedding more than anyone else's....but I am married and that is all that really matters. So things I would change:

A) Hired a second photog or different one altogether....

B) Gotten the cathedral veil - not sure why I didnt.

C) Added more flowers to church - skimped there.

D) insisted on taking more pics outside at the hall -

E) Had the videographer come to my parents house before the ceremony. (we started at the church.)

F) invited a few people I decided to leave out due to cost reasons - we invited over 200 so I was trying to keep it down but in the end, realized i should have invited some out of state friends that I didnt think would come....

Re: When looking back on your wedding day...are you %100 happy with the way things turned out?

I'm definitely NOT happy with everything, but most of those issues are all my fault. I TOTALLY regret wearing my hair up, because even though my pictures came out awesome, I still hate how I look (not that my hairdresser did a bad job at ALL, I just like how I look with my hair down much better). I also regret the dress I chose, since I look all stuffed into it (due to the back being a corset and me not losing enough weight).

Basically I regret a lot of things because I wasn't true to myself. Looking back, I wished I would have toned it down... it was never really the wedding I wanted, but I got all tangled up in the traditional way of planning weddings and influences from family and friends... so I missed the point. Oh well... it's over now, my honeymoon was INCREDIBLE, and I am the happiest I have ever been to be married to the best guy in the world! So the wedding day itself is just details.

Re: When looking back on your wedding day...are you %100 happy with the way things turned out?

Overall everything was amazing, however there are a few things I would have done differently:

1. I wish I had taken more pictures with my Cathedral veil on. I waited until the last minute to put in on before the church and then took it off right after the church and only left my blusher and filler on.

2. I wish I had taken individual pictures with all of my bridesmaids. I was so adament that I did not want traditional pictures and more of a focus on photojournalism that I missed out on a few traditional pictures I would have liked.

Other than that, I was happy with everything!

Re: When looking back on your wedding day...are you %100 happy with the way things turned out?

Our wedding day was the best day of our lives. The only thing that I regret is that I stressed myself out so much in the weeks prior to the wedding that I actually got sick. I worried so much about things I could not control like traffic (there was none) and weather (it rained a little, no biggie we are still married and have great pics). The things that I thought would make me crazy on that day I did not even notice, I was so happy to be married to DH. I think towards the end you lose touch w. what the day is really about and get caught up in trivial things. That would be my advice to any BTB, dont sweat the small stuff (that and remember to smile when you are walking down the aisle) .

*naturally, all my married friends gave me this advice and I was not able to follow it. Its tough not to stress out about all the little details

There are things that I might've changed, but now as I look back, all the perfect and not so perfect things is what shaped my life, so I don't regret anything!

In my opinion, our day was PERFECT!!!!!

Re: When looking back on your wedding day...are you %100 happy with the way things turned out?

I loved my day soooo much, so YES, I am 100% satisfied

The only thing that ever pops in my mind now and again is the fact that my sister custom made me such a pretty money bag to match my dress, and I left it in the hotel, so we had to carry the cards in our hand

Re: When looking back on your wedding day...are you %100 happy with the way things turned out?

Almost going on to 2 yrs I cannot remember them now I would do the day all over again, it was like a well written script I had a list one time, but now looking at the life I am living and looking at my beautiful pix, those things that seem so large then, are not even worth remembering now.

Re: When looking back on your wedding day...are you %100 happy with the way things turned out?

I'm very happy with the way my wedding turned out...but...

Sure, there were a few things that bothered me at first...like the fact that we had a blizzard (20+ inches of snow) the day before my wedding...but looking at the proofs now and seeing how beautiful the snow makes everything look...I'm SO HAPPY it snowed.

I loved, loved my florist...but I do wish my bouquet was a little different. My BM's had the most gorgeous red berries in their bouquets, they were crystallized and they sparkled like crazy...but I wanted an ALL ivory bouquet...and I got it...but now I wish I had those crystallized red berries instead of the snowberries that I asked for.

I wish I had some professional pics of me and my flowergirl...and of me and our GM's alone...I don't have either.

I wish I enjoyed the day more...we got married at the Milleridge and we spent SO much time taking pics during cocktail hour and even the reception. I feel like I missed so much of the day.

Im not 100 % either but i still consider it the best day of my life.

One thing that bothers me to this day is that my dress was a little loose becuase i lost some weight right before the wedding.

Could not have said this better myself....
I was so worried about being responsible for 78 people being in Italy for MY wedding that I made myself sick...literally sick. I got the shingles from stress (no joke)

Luckily it takes time to incubate, so I didn't get the rash (on my lower back) until the 2nd to last day of my honeymoon, but the plane ride home was no fun.....lemme tell ya!

If I could do it all over again, the only thing I would change is my stress level!

The only thing I would change are

I would have had a different video person

I would have worn a cathedral train.

I would have went somewhere else on my honeymoon. We had a great time, but it was the rainy season(which I wonder why our travel agent didn't know this )

Re: When looking back on your wedding day...are you %100 happy with the way things turned out?

I am 100% happy with the way things turned out. That doesn't mean things were perfect-lots of little things were screwed up but they don't matter anymore. Lets see: It rained, the fg dresses were terrible and were replaced at the last minute(literally, purchased at 11 am for a 3pm wedding), we forgot the toasting glasses and the photo mat to sign, we were late, etc, etc. There were more stupid things but I'm over them. I find them funny now. It was the best day of my life, I don't regret a thing.

Aaah Stacey, but you never know, another honeymoon and Damien might not have been conceived at that precise moment

Re: When looking back on your wedding day...are you %100 happy with the way things turned out?

YES!! Here are a few and yes, my DH thinks I am crazy for still lingering over these facts...

-i wish i wore my veil on top of my head instead of in the back.
-i wish i had not worn a strapless dress or had lost more weight
-i wish my late supposed to be crisp september day was not 83 degrees and humid
-i wish the priest who actually met w us and was supposed to marry us showed up - thats right, he didnt show up. they had a stand in!
-i wish i did not stand in the hallway of my hall for 10 min with my DH before the maitr'd came to get us
-i wish my DJ did not play the wrong song for our last dance - bc of this I missed out on the last dance. He said thank you and good nite and it was over!

-i wish that they actually served me the chicken marsala as an entree that we asked for - instead of chicken w some weird red sauce? lol
-i wish i spent more $$ on my photographer - oh dont get me started on that one....

this is making me depressed!!

edited to say sorry for whining! lol

Re: When looking back on your wedding day...are you %100 happy with the way things turned out?

i have a few little things:

- the bra under my dress just didn't fit right. the entire morning while the photographer was trying to take pics, there i was, pulling the d@mn thing up. by the time the reception came around - i was braless!!! for $90+, the bra should have fit better or i should have insisted to have cups sewn in

- not confirming with the florist that i wanted sunflowers on the wedding cake. she used mainly the other flowers from my bouquet.

- my biggest thing - i regret stressing myself out over comments on this board. i was up many, many nights stressing over the photographer because someone posted that someone they knew used them and didn't like them. with a week to go i was hysterical, debating whether or not to find a new photographer. in the end - we loved our photographer.

Re: When looking back on your wedding day...are you %100 happy with the way things turned out?

im goimg om two weeks since my wedding and my dh thinks im crazy that im still stressing over it. dont get me wrong i felt like queen for a day and was very happy. but there are a few things i would love to go back and change.

I was uncomfortable around my photographer and because of this was afraid to ask for a lot of the photos i really wanted. he seemed like he just wanted to take some pictures and leave

the florist i used was the house florist and did an amazing job with the reception room. but i hated the personal flowers he did for us. they werent what i picked them to be and alot smaller for the money i paid.

my d.j was supposed to play off my list that took months to get right. he instead played a few of my list and decided to go off on his on and play some tired played at songs like holiday by madonna.

i know it shouldnt bother me because we are getting so many compliments on our day hopefully in time ill feel better about it. no one noticed most of these things but me.

Re: When looking back on your wedding day...are you %100 happy with the way things turned out?

Oh my gosh! Did anyone else get it? Have you had it before? My father got shingles Sept 1st across his face and he was in so much pain, he had Cataract Surgery a few weeks prior and got it from there. It was so painful and he looked so raw. It stills hurts him to this day. I am very sorry this happened to you! It was my mother's nightmare since she was affraid that my Dad had it early enough to give it to the entire bridal party etc. Luckily no one else got it and it cleared up somewhat. But I still felt so bad for him he was so embarrased by it, he looked like a monster up until the week of the wedding and wore some makeup that day.. (which was funny since my dad is in his 60's and definetly is a man's man.. lol)
but if you look at the pic below he looked pretty damm good for a man in pain who was trying not to cry and in pain when he did.
