Re: When looking back on your wedding day...are you %100 happy with the way things turned out?

You know, since you've posted this, I've been thinking about what I would say.

I have to say I am 95% happy with how my day turned out. What made me unhappy had nothing to do with Fox Hollow or ANY vendors I chose. I was VERY upset that my DH's family did not dance to our American band. Not even his parents which we noticed more on our video, we were both VERY upset by this Makes me sad just to think of it.

Oh my gosh! Did anyone else get it? Have you had it before? My father got shingles Sept 1st across his face and he was in so much pain, he had Cataract Surgery a few weeks prior and got it from there. It was so painful and he looked so raw. It stills hurts him to this day. I am very sorry this happened to you! It was my mother's nightmare since she was affraid that my Dad had it early enough to give it to the entire bridal party etc. Luckily no one else got it and it cleared up somewhat. But I still felt so bad for him he was so embarrased by it, he looked like a monster up until the week of the wedding and wore some makeup that day.. (which was funny since my dad is in his 60's and definetly is a man's man.. lol)
but if you look at the pic below he looked pretty damm good for a man in pain who was trying not to cry and in pain when he did.

Our wedding day was the best day of our lives. The only thing that I regret is that I stressed myself out so much in the weeks prior to the wedding that I actually got sick.

Could not have said this better myself....
I was so worried about being responsible for 78 people being in Italy for MY wedding that I made myself sick...literally sick. I got the shingles from stress (no joke)

Luckily it takes time to incubate, so I didn't get the rash (on my lower back) until the 2nd to last day of my honeymoon, but the plane ride home was no fun.....lemme tell ya!

If I could do it all over again, the only thing I would change is my stress level!

I had had it before....just once and in the same place (my lower back). It was so painful...and I mean excruciating!!!!!
I am a total worrier and I internalize everything and my Dr. said that is how I got it...stress....ugh!
Luckily it isn't contagious to people who have had the chicken pox (most everyone) and no one (that I know of) caught it b/c of me :)

It was awful though and the 8+ hour plane ride home was so HORRIBLE!!!!!

Re: When looking back on your wedding day...are you %100 happy with the way things turned out?

Oh yeah, I forget I have a family of freaks. I think we all have some super gene or something and my mom, brother, myself, cousins.. etc all have never had the chicken poxs so we were pretty worried! Glad your feeling better!

Edited to add, we also found out from Dh's Grandmother that his Grandad had it on his crown jewels once (I can't even imagine how bad that must have felt)... so when my Dad heard that story he felt better.. lol

Re: When looking back on your wedding day...are you %100 happy with the way things turned out?

the thing i regret most [well, in some ways] is not enjoying the time leadig up to our wedding - both dh and i had extremely busy schedules - at the time i was working f/t, going to grad school f/t, workiing a p/t job on weekends to pay for the wedding and fh was working and going to school...our day turned out great and we loved it but looking back, maybei should have slowed down a bit beforehand!

Re: When looking back on your wedding day...are you %100 happy with the way things turned out?

I wish I would have had an 8 hour wedding... it just went so quickly.... and I know my guests would have stayed another 2 hours!

i regret not having enough time to do some smaller setails that no one missed but me.....

I definately regret that there were so many people that could not come. My grandmother, grandfather and 2 aunts all had pneumonia & couldn't come b/c the weather dropped to single digits!

Re: When looking back on your wedding day...are you %100 happy with the way things turned out?

Well overall my wedding was a total dream come true. I was upset about my rehearsal dinner though. I had a terrible fight with my dad and it made for some tough feelings on my actual wedding day. Mostly the things that bothered me were family related.

As for my vendors and planning, it was all perfect (except for the fondant bows that were missing from my cake). I could not have been more pleased with how things went.

It is just a shame that my family gave me a really rough night before my wedding!

Re: When looking back on your wedding day...are you %100 happy with the way things turned out?

Our wedding was everything I could have hoped for. We had a beautiful day, we danced the night away, nothing went wrong, etc. The only thing I regret was how nervous I was during the ceremony!! I was shaking! I didn't calm down until communion. It's funny, on our unedited video, you hear DH trying to calm me down.

Re: When looking back on your wedding day...are you %100 happy with the way things turned out?

Our wedding day was wonderful!! All my vendors were great. The only things I wish were different were:

1. The weather. It rained all day and I wanted to take pictures outside at the hall.

2. The Church planned a baptism before our wedding and our guests were forced to wait in the back of the Church until the ceremony was finished.

Re: When looking back on your wedding day...are you %100 happy with the way things turned out?

Overall my wedding was wonderful and I wouldn't change anything but of course there were a few things that irked me...

1) My family. I got married on a friday afternoon in the summer and i told my aunts and cousins many many times to leave early for traffic. For all other family weddings the immediate family took the day off so they could be in pictures but of course they couldn't do that for mine. They didn't listen and leave early either so my aunts and cousins got to the ceremony as my sister was walking down. They missed all the family pictures. That really pissed me off.

2) I didn't really like my hair. I thought I did but now I don't lol.

3) My Matrie'd. He was awful. He did to many things to list but he just added extra stress to my day. The Hall itself was wonderful and all the guests thought everything was perfect but I know better. I will say though that I was compensated for my troubles but that doesn't erase the stress.
