Yes I would be upset and wonder why he didn't want to wear it.

Re: Would you be upset if DH didn't want to wear his wedding ring
It would bother me if DH didn't wear his ring. The nature of his job may sometimes require him to take it off but it always gets locked up & put right back on! He LOVES wearing it and always has either his work ring or his dress ring (the ring he was married in) on.

Re: Would you be upset if DH didn't want to wear his wedding ring
DH wears it around a neclace when he is working, and wears it on his finger when he is not.He was going to get a band tattooed, but when he went to go do it he thought twice about it because the healing 'itch' and 'burn' would ddrive him nuts when he is working. Even that didn't bother me, becuase it was his idea in the first place.
Also; I don't always wear my band either.

Re: Would you be upset if DH didn't want to wear his wedding ring
I would be a little upset. Yes we all forget here and there and in certain circumstances such as when I cook and clean I take it off, my husband takes his off when he's lifting weights at the gym and in the house. Certain jobs I can understand, but then again the guys could have chosen a ring that was very plain, not to expensive so they wouldn't have to worry about it on the job.....

Re: Would you be upset if DH didn't want to wear his wedding ring
I would be hurt. I was acutally really surprised when DH was really into wearing it. Before we got married he told me of course he would wear it! I forgot to wear mine one day and he was really upset. It's actually come to be a really important symbol for us. I had his engraved and made a bit of a big deal out of it. This past MOnday was our first anniversary and he made me a card - it had a computerized image of his ring on the front with the engraving showing. It's so sweet

I'd be VERY upset. I feel it shows to everyone how proud and happy you are to be married. My husband wears his all the time.

Re: Would you be upset if DH didn't want to wear his wedding ring
It depends, if he is in construction, then he doesn't have to wear it. I don't want him cutting his finger off. But, other than that, he would have to wear it! But, I don't have a problem b/c dh likes to wear his.

Re: Would you be upset if DH didn't want to wear his wedding ring
I think i would be upset if he didn't wear his ring - and would wonder why did he want to buy it - if he's not going to wear it!I would only understand if he was in construction or doing physical labor that he couldn't wear it.

Re: Would you be upset if DH didn't want to wear his wedding ring
my dh has a sensitivity to metal, so he doesn't always wear it. he takes it off b/4 he goes to bed and b/c his memory isn't that wonderful, he doesn't always remember to put it back on. but no, i'm not bothered by it.

Re: Would you be upset if DH didn't want to wear his wedding ring
DH actually loves his ring. He only takes it off when he eats, sleeps, and types on the computer. He never leaves the house without it. He forgot one time and freaked out and came all the way home to get it. I think the only way he wouldn't wear it is if it was an accident, which is why I wouldn't worry. If he did it on purpose, I'd naturally be upset.

Re: Would you be upset if DH didn't want to wear his wedding ring
It did bother me but now I don't care. Dale has a titanium band and they can't be sized ever. He lost weight and the ring kept falling off. He is a carpenter by day and he can't wear it. I am used to it now. I stopped wearing my engagement ring and wedding band and bought a very thin plain band

I just wanted to add here that it can actually be hazardous in certain jobs to wear a ring. DH is a mechanic & has actually seen people loose their fingers b/c their wedding ring got caught in something & ripped off.
Also, I know many electricians that will not wear their rings to work, as well as construction workers, plumbers and many other people who work with their hands.

My DH is a mechanic for ConEdison and for some parts of his job it could be hazardous and that is when he will take off his work band and lock it up but alot of the time he can keep it on.

I told him if he didn't think he could get used to wearing his ring, then I didn't think I'd get used to using his last name!!
That's Great!
It bugs the hell out of me that DH doesn't wear his sometimes. I've accepted the fact that there are certain days he can't wear it to work, but the other days, when he just forgets -

Yes, it would bother me.
DH tried to say that he wasn't going to wear the ring after the wedding because he just wasn't 'used to' wearing jewelry. I told him if he didn't think he could get used to wearing his ring, then I didn't think I'd get used to using his last name!!
He wears it everyday.![]()
lol the same thing happned to me and dh proudly wears his everyday

Re: Would you be upset if DH didn't want to wear his wedding ring
My DH wears it, but I'm prepared for it to be lost soon...he has to take it off whenever he does a surgery (about three days a week)....someday he's going to loose it, but I expect it because it's the nature of his work.

no but i grew up with my dad never wearing his - and my parents have been married 30+ years
Ditto.
Besides, DH is not used to wearing 'jewelry'. He plays with the ring all the time. That annoys me more than not wearing one.
He does wear it when we go to dinner functions, etc..

Re: Would you be upset if DH didn't want to wear his wedding ring
I have to admit, I am the one in our relationship who has forgotten to put my ring on twice. I am not a jewelry person and I explained to him before we even married that I would be taking my ring off as soon as I came home. He has been so understanding. PS - he always wears his.Welcome New Vendors
