Thank you so much to Long Island Weddings (Ron, Liz & Kim) and all the girls on the boards for giving me so many wonderful ideas and helping me with the Wedding planning process!! I hope my review can do justice to the Vendors who made our Wedding Day better then we ever dreamed it could be.

The Day: I couldn’t have asked for a better day, I think it was the only nice Saturday in April, it was warm and sunny all day. I had been worried that I would not be able to sleep the night before because of nerves and excitement, but I slept fine all night. I had also thought that I would get nervous and emotional, especially walking down the isle and during the father daughter dance but I was calm the whole day. The whole day felt like an outer body experience. I remember reading on here from several girls to take some time to just take everything in that day and it was great advice. The day does fly by so take a few moments to look around and remember how you feel at the moment.

Our Registry - Bed Bath and Beyond A+ and Macy’s: A
I did not enjoy this as much as I thought I would. We registered at Bed Bath and Beyond in Westbury. They have a large selection and were very helpful and accommodating, they offered to let us stay after hours or open early to let us finish registering. We picked BBB because I knew our guests would be able to use 20% off coupons on every purchase and they had reasonable prices to begin with. They were also great for returns, we got a few duplicate items and were able to return them for cash instead of a store credit. For Macy’s we went to the one in Roosevelt Field Mall. We only had a few items on this registry, I just wanted to give our guests a choice and I also didn’t find everyday dishes I like at BBB so that’s mostly what was on it.

My Bridal Shower – Millridge Inn: A+
My mom and MIL threw my amazing Bridal Shower at millridge inn. The food was absolutely delicious and the service was great!..




Rehearsal dinner, Heart of Portugal:A+
DH and I are both Portuguese and wanted our RD at a Portuguese restaurant. The food and service was great and the price very good


Grooms Cake, The Cake Gallery: A+
We are both hardcore Yankee fans and when I saw the cake a fellow LIW bride had gotten, I just knew it was perfect. It looked and tasted great and DH loved it.



Invitations, Programs, Donations Cards – Pippys Sweet: A+
I love the look of pocketfolds but did not want to spend a lot on invitations (they just end up in the garbage). There prices were great and Diana was great to work with. Everything is done by email, once you approve your email proof she will send you one hard copy for a final approval. We ended up getting our programs and donations cards from her as well.

BM Gifts, Macys:A+
I got the girl Day of jewlery from macys during one of their sales, the price was great and they looked great on all the girls



Hair/Makeup- Michael @ Metro Modes: A+
I have known Michael since High School and knew he would do an amazing job. I loved my trial and loved the work he did the day of even more. My hair and makeup lasted all night long and I loved my eyelashes.

Dress: Filene's Basement Running of the Brides: A+
I had just gotten engaged and signed up for all the online wedding sites, a few weeks later I received an email from the knot that they were having the running of the brides at the Filene’s Basement in Manhasset. Since it was less then 10 minuets from my house I figured I would check it out. I had no intention of purchasing a dress since my wedding was still almost a year and a half away but I figured it was a good opportunity to try on dress so that when I did start dress shopping I would have a better idea of what I wanted. My best friend and I got there about 5 am and the line wasn’t so bad (it wasn’t as crazy at the city one). After trying on dozens of dresses I found a dress I loved. I was a little hesitant about getting the dress since my wedding was still so far away, but I knew I wouldn’t find a dress I liked better or a better deal so I got it. Overall it was a great experience and I would highly recommend it to anyone who had the opportunity to go.


Headpiece, Veil: A+
I went to Barrons in Tri-county with my mom one day and went home with a beautiful veil and headpiece. The guy was very helpful, I showed him a picture of my dress and he was able to find items that matched perfectly. They are also very reasonable priced.
Alterations, Alterations by Millie:A+
Since I didn’t purchase by dress at a bridal salon, I was on my own when it came to alterations. I found Millie on LIW and I am so glad I did. She the sweetest person you can ever meet and does wonderful work. My mom, sister and aunt had their dresses altered by her as well and all of them came out perfect and she was much less expensive then the salons. I have a wedding in October and I will be using Millie for my alteration.

Shoes, Lord and Taylor and Marshalls: A
I found my day of flip-flops at Marshalls. I was just doing some shopping and found a pair of white flip-flops with a high platform and a silver heart in the front. They were perfect and on clearance for $19 ?. My shoes I ordered online from Lord and Taylor. I knew I wanted Badgley mishka shoes and found them on sale.


Shoe Stickers, Michael's:
I loved the i do stickers but didnt want to pay more to ship then they cost, so I went to Michaels and got blue crystals and made them myself


Unity Candle, Estsy


Bridesmaid dresses, Bridal Reflections: B+
I got the bridesmaids dresses at Bridal Reflections in Massapequa. They came in when they said they would and the price was good. I gave them a B+ because my MOH had her alterations there and the made it to tight.

Tuxes, Forestos: A
We looked at a few tuxedo places and felt that Forestos had the best selection for the best price. The day of all the guys looked great and as far as I know there weren’t any issues.
Franklin Square Photography: A+
We meet Keith at bridal showcase and were very impressed by his work. We meet with several other photographers but felt that no one else compared. We did our engagement shoot in Central Park and Loved the way the pictures came out. The day of Keith and his assistant were at my house on time and got right to work. We were able to get all the pictures and I never felt rushed, I even got to enjoy my cocktail hour and some down time in the bridal suite.

Bravura Entertainment: A+
We hear about Bravura from one of Anthonys friends who had booked them. We went to see their showcase at CB and were so impressed. We also got to see them in action at his friends wedding and knew we had made the right decision. They had the floor packed all night.. We booked Tony as our MC and Paul as our singer. Paul was able to do our first dance (faithfully by Journey) and the father daughter dance (I loved her first) and did an amazing job with both. On the day of the Wedding Bravura rocked the house. The dance floor was packed all night and we didn’t stop dancing until the last note of the last song was played.

Limos, Camelot: A+
I had heard a lot about Joe from LIW and decided to check him out. Joe gave us a grreat deal on the Hummer and Princess Rolls Royce. On Wedding day, all the cars were on time, looked great and the drivers were so professional and nice. After our Church we went to the Garden City gazebo to take picture and they were recruiting at the firehouse and had several fire trucks out. DH had made a comment about how cool it would be to be taken up in the basket, and while we were taking pictures our driver asked the firefighters if we can take some pictures in the basket and they said yes. They could only take us up about 10 feet but it was a cool experience and make for some original pictures.
Florist, Flowers By B U R T O N S : A
Flowers we not supper important to us, we wanted something pretty but also within a reasonable budget. We went to several places and B u r t o n s beat everyone’s price by over $1,000. I gave them a picture of what I wanted and everything came out perfect.

Cake, Taste Of home:A+
I wanted a simple cake with dots on it and that’s what we got. The cake tasting was a lot of fun, they gave us a bunch of mini cake layers and all the different fillings and toppings so we could build our own cake and see how it would taste.


Inn at New Hyde Park: A++
I fell in love the first time I walked in and just knew I couldn’t get married anywhere else. I love the look of it and also that its only one wedding at a time. We worked with Frank and he was great. I had two bridal assistants who made sure I had everything I needed and when I dropped a chocolate strawberry from the chocolate fountain on my dress they were able to get the stain out completely. The food and service were excellent and people are still raving about everthing.

Name Sign – mysweetmemories: A
I heard a lot about channa on LIW and decided to order one. She was great to work with and I was very happy with the final product.

Favors, Donation and Cakeballs: A+
We wanted to make a donation instead of getting traditional favors and since both of our families have been affected by breast cancer we made a donation to Susan G Komen for the Cure. I wanted to give something along with the donations card and saw a picture of a bride and groom cakeball that was perfect. The were a lot of work, it took my mom, MOH and aunt about 4 days to make the 200+ cakeballs we needed but in the end they came out great and everyone loved them.


The bridal suite at the in is amazing.

Yup, I spent the week before my wedding making them till about 11 pm every night, my mom said I was crazy when I told her i wanted to make them, but im so glad i did.

you will not be disappointed, everything was just as they said. The food was great and there was so much of it. People keep coming up to us to tell us how great everything was and how they had never seen a place like it before. If you have anything specific you would like to know FM me
