Longer Review of my July 12th wedding

I have read so many reviews on this board, so it would only be fair for me to contribute my own review of my wedding. Let me just tell all of the up-coming brides that your wedding day will fly by. The day went by so fast, but it was such a wonderful day. There were no disasters. All of my vendors came from the advice on this board, and I have to say that all of the vendors were excellent.

Watermill: A + Excellent job. I had my wedding in the Astor Room. The service was excellent. My parents went a little crazy in inviting people, so our final count was around 190, so the room was a little snug. The dance floor was packed for the first dance. Overall, the food was excellent. No complaints. All the up comming Watermill brides will be very pleased.

VIP Studios: A + Excellent job. John and his partner, Tony came on time. The two men were very nice. John sort of played the serious photographer, while Tony was the funny man. The two men stayed the entire night. We were all very impressed.

Spin Around Sound: A + Excellent job. Tom was the MC and Rio was the DJ. They played every song we requested. Tom was an excellent MC. He did his job, and only talked when he had to. We had a lot of relatives visiting from Ireland and Tom played some great Irish music. The dance floor was always packed. My husband and I were very sweaty at the end of the night from all of the dancing.

Flowers by Michele: A + Wonderful! John was a pleasure to work with. I had really no idea what type of flowers I wanted and John took the time to work with us. Everything was wonderful.

Bridal Reflections: B I had some major problems with my dress. The seamstress promised to make the dress 75% better. I was not happy with her answer. I think all bridal dresses should be 100% perfect. There were some stressful moments, but overall Bridal Reflections came through and fixed the problems. I think they were truly concerned about the dress and they wanted to make sure I was happy with the final result.

Jackie I Make-Up You: B I wanted to have a very natural look for the wedding. I had my trial with Jackie was not completely thrilled with the results, but I booked her anyway, since I was not in the mood to arrange 100 make-up trials. When she came from the day of the wedding, I suggested some changes. She came across rather combative and only stressed me out. I was not happy with her attitude. Overall, I was very happy with the make-up. Her hair partner, Margaret, was wonderful. She was very nice and I did a great job with my hair.

La Productions: A + Excellent Laura created programs for the wedding. She did an excellent job. I received many compliments. She was a pleasure to work with.

Honeymoon Italy: A + My husband surprised me with first class tickets when we got to the airport. First class is the way to travel when you go to Europe. I never ate so much food on an airplane. The honeymoon was excellent. We went to Venice, Rome and the Amalfi Coast.

It was the best day of my life. Everything worked out and it was perfect. Just remember to take out some time to remember everything. It was just a wonderful feeling to know that so many people came out to celebrate my marriage to my husband. I am just starting to look over all of the wedding pictures. I will try to post some on the board.

CONGRATS!!

When exactly were you in which places in Italy, and what hotels did you stay at? We were probably in some places the same time, as we left July 7 for OUR Italy honeymoon to the Amalfi Coast, Rome, Florence, and Tuscany. I envy your first class tickets...we tried upgrading with freq flyer points but no luck.
