My wedding was an amazing day. DH and I really took the time to enjoy ourselves. People continue to tell us how happy we looked that day!

LIW – A+
This site was invaluable to me during the planning process. Since I live in DC, I wasn’t able to shop around as much as I would have liked. LIW gave me a great place to do research so I could narrow down my vendors. Plus, I’ve met so many amazing people on this site. I’m proud to be a member of the LIW cult (as DH calls it).

Mother Nature – A++++
We really lucked out with the weather. The entire week it was gloomy and rainy, but on Friday it was nice and sunny out. Plus it was in the 70’s which meant that I wasn’t sweating like crazy underneath my big dress.

STD Magnets – MagnetQueen.com - A
I highly recommend this company. They allowed me to design my own magnet (but they also have pre-made designs) and printed them up for me. The quality was excellent and they were less expensive than MagnetStreet (who does nice work as well). Make sure that you mention that you’re a LIW bride and they’ll give you 50% off your order.

Invitations – www.invitationsbydawn.com - A
Great price, fast shipping. Excellent company to work with.

My Gown – Fantasia Bridal – A
This store was so great to work with. I got my Private Label by G EX1 gown there at a great price. They even took half off of the veil which made it just as inexpensive as getting it at Barron’s.


BM Gowns – NetBride.com – A
I had BMs in Wisconsin, London and NY so Netbride made it easy to get them all their dresses. We got the Alfred Angelo dresses much cheaper then we could have at any salon (I tried and no one would match the price) plus they shipped them all the way to England. Even with the shipping, the dresses were about $30 cheaper then I could find them anywhere else.


Tuxes – Rogers of Babylon – A
Rogers was nothing short of excellent. Every time we went in there they were incredibly helpful. They really spend time with us to make sure that DH was happy.


MOB Dress – Angel Bridal – A
The women at Angel Bridal were so sweet. They have a small store, but it’s packed with tons of choices. My mother didn’t want a typical “old lady” dress as she calls them, but she found tons of dresses that she liked at this store.

Officiant – abeautifulaffairoftheheart.com – Rev. Don – A
I loved this company because they provided us with a complete Word document of ceremony suggestions. We were able to pick and choose what we wanted to have in our ceremony and we could even re-write the entire thing if we wanted to. Rev. Don was very easy to talk to and completely understood what we wanted for our ceremony.

Ketubah - Ebay seller miami_nice – B+
Not as big as the more expensive ones, but still very nice and much cheaper than others. Seller was really easy to work with and it was delivered quickly. The best part was that it cost less 1/3 of what other ketubahs generally go for.

Limos – Clique – A
We didn’t count on having so many OOT people coming to the reception so we originally booked them for 2 12 passenger vans to shuttle our guests. When we realized that over 100 people were staying at the hotel Clique found 2 school buses for us to use instead. We also rented a 22 passenger Excursion from them. The limo and buses were all clean and the drivers were extremely nice and professional. Definitely check this company out; they gave us an amazing price for everything that we got!

Flowers – LA Blossom – B+
I wish that I could give Laurie an A because she is so wonderful and talented, but I have to say that I was a little bit disappointed with my flowers. Everything was exactly the way that I asked for. The problem was that my “blue” hydrangeas were mostly white and green. It’s definitely possible that she wasn’t able to get really blue flowers at that time of the year so I don’t know if it’s all her fault. Other than the color, everything was great. The ceremony decorations were amazing! I still recommend Laurie very highly, but if you’re concerned about flower color then I would make sure to talk to her about it beforehand.


DJ & Live Music – Tommy’s Tunes – A
They are worth every penny that we paid for them! They kept everyone dancing all night.

Photo & Video – Duet – A+ for Photo, Video TBD
Duet completely surpassed my expectations. My proofs are simply amazing and I could not have asked for better pictures. I can’t wait to see my albums and video.

Reception & Ceremony Location – Venetian Yacht Club – A++++
Everything about this place was wonderful. The food was excellent and the service was simply amazing. My bridal attendant was so attentive. She even brought me a table cloth to cover myself when we were eating food from the cocktail hour. Everything that I asked for was done quickly. All of the instructions that I left with my BM (Bill) were done exactly as I requested.

The cake was from Audrey’s Bakery in Sayville and OMG it was so good. It was vanilla cake with canolli and vanilla pudding fillings. It was so moist and yummy.

A bunch of people have told me that they were listening to them in their cars too. I like that this was a really personal, but inexpensive favor that we were able to give out.


Sand dollar placecards
Sand dollars – ebay seller kathyndan1 – Quick shipping and there were only 2 out of 150 that were even slightly broken. I ordered extra because I figured that there was no way that they would all come in one piece, but I was wrong. These were so easy to make and they were a huge hit.

WOW everything looked so freaking phenomenal. You looked so stunning! I love the blue BM dresses- we don't often see that blue and it is just soooo gorgeous! CONGRATS!!!
