My review 4/4/04 (repost from BHB)

I still can't believe I am actually married!! It still seems kind of surreal! So here is my review....

Hotel- Melville Marriot: A+++++++++++
The service we got there was excellent. They gave us no problems about giving out the guests' goodie bags, and they were very accomodatin for anything we needed. We had around 10-12 rooms, some for 2 or 3 nights, so they upgraded the room DH and I slept in the night after our wedding to a junior suite, and they even gave us a complimentary bottle of Champagne. Just a wonderful experience there.

Hair- Yafit- A Perfect Blend A+++++++++
She did a wonderful job. She was pleasant, on time, and made everyone look incredible. I had told her that after my trial my hair didn't last as long as I would have liked, so she made sure it would stay for the wedding. I went SWIMMING after the wedding and my hair barely fell!!!! Fabulous!!

Makeup- Maria- A Soft Touch A++++++++++
Everyone looked incredible. I don't wear makeup regularly, and she left me looking very natural, but emphasized. The makeup didn't feel heavy. She even let me use my own lipstick, and if we wanted to buy any of the products she used on us, we could have them to touch up through out the day (although everything stayed so well I didn't even have to). She gave everyone exactly the look they wanted.

Huntington Townhouse- A+++++++++++++++++++
I can't even begin to sing high enough praises for the staff at the HTH. Everytime I went there or called there through the planning stages, they were always available and helpful. And on the wedding day, the staff was beyond amazing. The banquet manager who we had been dealing with all along, Ellen Rose, came in to check that we were happy with the way everything was being handled. My bridal assistant, Patricia, was the friendliest person there. I feel like I knew her forever! I didn't have to ask for anything. And the maitre d', Edwin, was incredible. He always told us what was going on, always made sure we were not in need of anything, including the BP. He made sure we got to eat some food from cocktail hour, since we were taking pictures, and he made sure no one bothered us during our dinner, so we could at least eat something during the reception as well. At the end of the night, Patricia and Edwin gathered all of our belongings together, from the flowers to the disposable cameras, to the garter, even our copies of the speehes our BP had given. Everything was loaded into a cart to be brought down to the car. We didn't have to look for anything. And, of course, the food was incredible. I was with my family tonight for Passover, and they are stilol raving about the food. I would go back there without a doubt!!!

DJ- High Voltage- A+++++
Vinny was terrific. He played everything we had asked him to play. He did have a wrong version of a song I asked for, but it was a hard to find song, so I can't blame him too much. He even let me take over the microphone so I could do a line dancing lesson!!!!! It was so much fun!! I also liked the fact that Vinny wasn't an 'in-your-face' type of DJ. He made his announcements when he had to, and let us do our thing otherwise. My only mini-complaint is that he really saved all the dance music until after dinner was served, so most of the afternoon no one really got up to dance, but once he started so did the guests, and we never sat down after that!! I am so glad we switched our DJ after hearing some warnings on here. We didn't have to worry with Vinny!

I can't fully grade these guys since we haven't gotten the pics and video back yet, but the photographer and videographer were amazing. Very friendly guys, never seemed obtrusive. I hardly remembered they were there half the time. I only wish we had done more poses. I never got to take a pic with each BM individually, which I was looking forward to giving to them as gifts. But otherwise, wonderful working with them. As soon as I see the final products I will review them again.

Flowers- The Flower Barn- A+++++++++++
They did exactly what I asked them to do. I couldn't have asked for anything more. My flowers were amazing. I kept getting compliments all day long. I told them I wanted big blooms on the roses, and I don't think they get bigger than that.

We didn't use a limo, so I think that's all I have to review. If I remember anything else, I will post it.

In the meantime, I am just basking in the post-marital bliss. I can't wait for the HM- Southern Caribbean cruise. We don't go until the 17th, so it's back to work tomorrow.

Oh well, life goes on.
