Our Amazing January 16, 2011 Wedding: Milleridge, Bravura, Twelfth Night, Camelot, Oksana, Hair Genie, Maui Honeymoon and More!!

The Proposal:
It was two days before Christmas and Chris suggested that we take a drive around
Long Island to look at the Christmas lights. It wasn't quite dark yet and since it was around sunset we 'just happened' to be passing Jones Beach ('our spot') and we thought it would be nice to get out and take some pictures. Little did I know that Chris had it all planned and when I turned to look away from the sunset he was down on one knee and asked me to marry him! Of course I said YES, after yelling ARE YOU SURE!!?

The Compromise:
Chris was raised Greek Orthodox and I am Jewish. I always knew it was very important for Chris to get married in his Church and I really wanted the opportunity to say Wedding Vows in front of all our friends and family (in a Greek ceremony the bride and groom do not get to speak). So we decided to have two ceremonies ON THE SAME DAY!!

My Bridal Shower - O'Neill's Restaurant: A++
My mom threw my amazing Bridal Shower Brunch at O’Neills in Maspeth, Queens. The food was absolutely delicious and the service was great! Mom made chocolate covered oreos as part of the favors and also gave out umbrellas to go with the Showers of Happiness Theme. The games were so much fun and everyone loved the lottery ticket prizes. The panty line was a big success and everyone hooted with laughter as each panty got added to the line. We got so many wonderful gifts and I couldn’t believe how many people showed up to share in my special day.

Our Invitations: A+
I saw Invitations that I liked in Party City, but they were above our budget so I searched the internet for the same ones and found them online for 40% off. This site was fantastic, they emailed you a proof so you could make sure your invitation wording was correct before placing your order. The invites shipped fast and were packaged really well.

Inkspun Calligraphy: A
Bill at Inkspun Calligraphy was great to work with. His prices are so reasonable and he has hundreds of fonts to choose from. When he saw my invitation was gold he called me and recommended that I go with the Gold Ink and didn’t even charge me extra for it. I got the envelopes back within 48 hours and they looked amazing.

Good Old Gold: A
My engagement ring and our wedding Bands are from Good Old Gold. They are a pleasure to work with and our rings are gorgeous!!

Jenn the Hair Genie: A++
My trial with Jenn the Hair Genie was one of my most favorite parts of the entire planning process. I knew I needed hair extensions because I have naturally thin hair and there is no way it would look voluminous or hold a curl without some help. Jenn makes it so easy to work with because she will buy the hair extensions for you and even sews on the clips herself. She matched my extensions exactly to the highlites in my hair and it blended perfectly! When she did my hair trial it looked so pretty that I actually started crying. For the first time I felt like I really be the beautiful bride that I wanted to be.

On Wedding day Jenn did my hair even better then at the trial and I couldn’t wait for my Future Husband to see me, because he had no idea I would now have long beautiful curly hair. The transformation was incredible! My MOH and Bridesmaid both have really thin hair and Jenn achieved the impossible by making their hair stay curly all day long as well.

Oksana: A++
Oksana is truly an artist and a total doll to work with. I told her what look I was going for and she pulled it off ten times better then I could have dreamt of. She did my makeup, as well as my moms and 3 of my bridesmaids. We all went from plain janes to total super models. You would never know that I have such bad acne and her makeup lasted well over the 15 hour day that we had. I thought by the time I got home that night I’d have raccoon eyes and no makeup left but I looked just as good as when the day started and had to actually scrub everything off.

Both Jenn and Oksana have such wonderful, fun personalities and are so talented at what they do. Having them come to my house and work their magic on me and my bridal party was a true highlite of the day. They kept the mood lite and fun and transformed us all into beauties at the same time.

Embroidery for “Soon to be Mrs” Hoodie: A
I purchased a white hoodie at Sears for $10.00 and then got it at embroidered at De Phillips Sports on Francis Lewis Boulevard in Queens. They only charged $20.00 to have the sweatshirt embroidered (by far the cheapest I was quoted) and they had 100s of thread colors to choose from. I dropped off the sweatshirt and picked it up two days later. I loved wearing it while I was getting ready and it looked so cute in pictures.

My Dress, Headpiece, Veil, Crinoline, Alterations, Bridesmaid Dresses:
David’s Bridal: A-
I went to the David’s Bridal in Massapequa on a Friday morning and had a wonderful experience. Rosa was my bridal consultant and she was so helpful and gave me so much personal attention I felt like I was at a high end salon. I highly recommend going on a weekday if you can. I wasn’t rushed and was able to try on as many dresses as I wanted.

I absolutely LOVED my dress. The minute I tried it on I knew it was THE ONE! The top was tightly fitted and had beautiful beading while the bottom was simple yet had a princessy poof to it. It was the exact Wedding dress I had dreamt of and fit my body perfectly. I ended up purchasing the veil and headpiece from David’s Bridal as well because the design was identical to the beading on the dress. I was so glad Rosa mentioned the headpiece and veil to me during that appointment because two weeks later the pattern was discontinued in accessories!

I have heard mixed reviews about David’s Bridal alterations so I was nervous to have my dress altered there but was also worried to take it someplace else incase they ruined the dress. I ended up taking my dress to the David’s Bridal in Carl Place because it was closer to my house and I wasn’t sure how many times I would need to go back.

The lady who did my alterations had so much patience and did a great job. I had three layers of material that needed to be cut and pinning it straight took forever. I also needed 15 bustle loops to withstand the weight of my dress. She took her time and when I got the dress back it looked amazing.

I thought David’s Bridal had a great selection of Bridesmaid dresses to choose from. There were many styles and colors and eventually we opted for a strapless burgundy dress with a pretty broach on the hip. It was very figure flattering and all the girls loved the dress. The price was also reasonable and arrived within two months of placing the order.

The only reason I gave David’s Bridal an A- is because once your dress comes in, you have 30 days to take it home. I appreciate that the dress came in so timely but it would be much better if they had a way to store it, until it was time for alterations. The dress was quite heavy to lug back and forth and not easily hidden in my apartment for the next ten months.

My Shoes:
Shoebuy.com: A
Shoebuy.com is awesome because you can order and return as many pairs as you want with free shipping both ways. Shoebuy also has tons of coupon codes making the discounts even greater. I have really bad feet and they always hurt quickly after wearing heels. I eventually found a pair of Colorifics called Andie that were so comfortable and really cute too! I wore them all night and they didn’t hurt at all.

Tuxes:
Mens Warehouse: B+
We went to the Mens Warehouse in Bay Terrace and while everyone was very nice I did not like that they only had swatches of the colors for the vests and ties. It was really hard to envision what it would look like and the guys couldn’t even try anything on. I wish we had known that any Mens Warehouse that is next to a David’s Bridal, has the actual sized vests and ties in any color to try on. No one told us that some Mens Warehouses focus on the suits while others focus on the Tuxes.

We originally opted for a black vest and pink tie but later switched our order to the burgundy vest/tie that matched the bridesmaid dresses. When the guys went to pick up their tuxes all of the vest/ties were burgundy except one was still black and pink. Luckily we caught the mistake in time and they were able to get us another burgundy vest/tie combo with a day to spare.

Even with the ordering error I would still use Mens Warehouse again. They were quick to fix their mistake and because they have so many locations, it was very convenient for our groomsman.

Twelfth Night Photography: A
We are huge picture people and photography is really important to us. We chose Twelfth Night because we loved their work when we saw it in the studio and it was a pleasure dealing with them during the process.

Bravura Entertainment: A+
We first saw Bravura perform at a friends Wedding. They literally blew my mind and I called Tony the next day and booked with them over the phone. Our package included a DJ(Enzo), MC(Tony), Singer (Vincent) and uplighting.

On the day of the Wedding Bravura rocked the house. The dance floor was packed all night and we didn’t stop dancing until the last note of the last song was played. Tony and his sexy voice did the introductions perfectly and he kept the crowd hyped all night long. Vincent stole the show performing classics like Unchained Melody and Run Around Sue better then the original artists. Our guests could not believe it was someone singing and not the recording. The uplighting looked fantastic and we had asked that the lighting switch from pink to blue halfway threw the night and that happened effortlessly and looked so pretty.

We told Tony that after the first dance we wanted to start with a traditional Greek song and midway threw we wanted it to turn into the Hava Nagila and then we would be lifted in the chairs (just another piece of the Greek/Jewish fun) and Bravura pulled off our crazy request perfectly.

I appreciated that Tony checked in with me numerous times during the evening and that he remembered things I didn’t even remember!! My Jr. Bridesmaid was supposed to give out glow necklaces during a Black Eyed Peas song. When the song was playing I didn’t even remember until I saw my Jr. Bridesmaid giving them out. Tony had gotten the glow sticks to my Jr. Bridesmaid while I continued to enjoy myself and I remember thinking how awesome that was.

The entire process with Bravura was so much fun and they are true professionals at what they do. It is thanks to them that my feet were still hurting two days after the Wedding and I wouldn’t have had it any other way.

Camelot Limos: A+
We loved working with Camelot and Joe gave us an amazing deal on the Navigator and Phantom Rolls Royce. He even threw in a car ride home after the Wedding and a ride to the airport for our honeymoon for free. On Wedding day, all the cars were on time, looked great and the drivers were so professional and nice. They helped me get my huge dress in the limo and when I was thirsty they had water for me in under a minute. After our Church ceremony they popped a bottle of champagne that we got to enjoy on the ride to our Venue, it was such a wonderful touch! Our driver even took a beautiful picture of us in front of the limo that they displayed on the Camelot Face book page.
After the Wedding we got a huge surprise, Joe had upgraded us from a regular car to their Bentley Flying Spur!!! Camelot had just purchased the car and we were the first couple to ride in it. Camelot made us feel like royalty the entire time and the upgrade home from our Wedding was just the cherry on top to a wonderful day.

Georgewood Florist: A
Flowers fell to the bottom of my “important list.” I wanted something pretty but also within a reasonable budget. I went to a local Florist in Queens called Georgewood Florist. Jenn was our contact person and she assured me that they could make something beautiful with any budget. On our first meeting Jenn pulled different flowers from their showcase and seeing all the various arrangements made it much easier to decide what I liked.

On the day of the Wedding our bouquets arrived and they looked spectacular. I had purchased some crystals and charms for my bouquet and I started crying the minute I saw it. They had attached the charms so beautifully it really felt like my Dad and Grandparents were walking down the aisle with me.

My centerpieces at the Milleridge were pretty and simple, exactly what I wanted. We had a centerpiece on our sweetheart table and it was overflowing with flowers. I still can’t believe what Georgewood made possible within out budget and they even threw in rose petals for free, they were everywhere and added a romantic feel to the room.

The Church:
Planning Process: B
Marriage Class: A+
Day of Wedding: A

St. Nicholas Greek Church is a beautiful Church located on Northern Boulevard in Queens, NY. My DH has been going to this Church since he was a child and we were so happy to have the families priest be the one to marry us.

The planning process with the Church was a little difficult. I had never been baptized before and if we wanted to get married in the Greek Church I had to be baptized first. Originally we were told I would have to take classes for a few weeks and then go threw the Baptism ceremony. A few weeks turned into nine months when week after week class would be postponed or cut short. I kept joking that they REALLY wanted us to earn our Greek status but after awhile it became very frustrating. At last I became Baptized and all our paperwork was filed.

The Church made all couples take a two hour marriage class and we both really enjoyed it. I have even noticed that we will mention things we learned or quote something that was said. In the craziness of planning a Wedding it is easy to forget why you are marrying each other and what it is all for. This class helped bring everything back into focus. It also opened the door for conversations about our own expectations, hopes and fears for our future and marriage. I think all couples in general would benefit from this type of class.

On the day of the Wedding, the Church did an amazing job. The priest remembered our names, a beautiful ceremony was performed and I didn’t faint from standing the entire time.

Judge Corbett: A
I liked Judge Corbett the minute I met him. He was friendly yet professional and really wanted to make our ceremony as special as possible. We were up front right away that during the day we would be having a Greek Orthodox Wedding and that we wanted to use his ceremony to be a little less rigid. It was very important to me that we got to say our vows and pledge our love in front of all our family and friends.

Judge Corbett helped us tailor our ceremony with beautiful readings and poems. He even helped me surprise my future husband with an addition to our vows promising that I would let him wash his car no matter what day or time, even if he was the only one who thought it was dirty. DH loved the ad-lib and all our guests got a great laugh because anyone who knows us, knows that DH loves his car more then anything in the world. Everyone kept telling us what a beautiful ceremony we had and it was all thanks to Judge Corbett.

Milleridge: A
We knew that the Milleridge was the venue for us the minute we stepped into the Cottage. The hard wood floors, gold chairs and fireplaces were perfect for the intimate, romantic, cozy wedding that we wanted to have.

Debbie was our Banquet Manager and she was amazing during the entire planning process. I emailed her numerous times and always got a response back that same day. She went out of her way to make sure we were always happy and when the Groom wanted Caesar salad even though we were serving House Salad to the guests, she made sure the Groom had Caesar salad.
The Milleridge was beautifully decorated for the holidays but for a January Wedding I wasn’ t too fond of all the poinsettias that were around the Cottage. Poinsettias said Christmas to me and I didn’t want a Christmas themed Wedding. On the day of the Wedding, there wasn’t a poinsettia in sight.

When we went for our food tasting we were so blown away by how good everything was, we were oohing and ahhing like we had never seen food before. We chose the Chateaubriand, Chicken Cordon Bleu and Salmon as our main entrees along with tons of delicious cocktail hour goodies. The only thing I would change about the food tasting is that you do not get to sample any of the cake and with so many flavors to choose from it would have been nice to taste some of them. The food at the Wedding was even more delicious then the tasting. Everything was cooked to perfection and months later our friends still rave that the lamb chops served during cocktail hour were the best they ever had.

When we arrived at the Milleridge on Wedding day, Pam our Maitre’d was there to greet us. Everything was set up just as we had requested and Pam treated us like rock stars. She was always by our side (but not in an intrusive way)if my bustle needed to be adjusted or when I asked for my lip gloss, which must have been 20 times. At the end of the night all of our things were packed up perfectly including two full dinners and tons of dessert to take home.

The Milleridge exceeded every expectation I had for my Wedding. It was beautiful, the food was fantastic and everyone was such a pleasure to work with. I wish we could do it all over again!!

Bride Hanger – Etsy Vendor Aressa: A+
The hanger was gorgeous and I loved how she was able to paint the flowers any color I wanted. The ribbon was also a great touch. Fast delivery and looked great in pictures holding my dress and veil. Much sturdier then I expected too!

Stefana Crowns – Etsy Vendor N1kkole: A+
All of the stefana crowns that I had seen were very expensive. I wanted something pretty that wouldn’t snag my hair during the Greek ceremony. I ordered these Greek crowns based on the description of “no snag pearls” and I am so glad I did. The crowns were gorgeous! Simple, elegant and didn’t ruin my hair at all. Plus they were by far the best priced crowns I had seen. I was very happy with my purchase.

BQ Charms – Etsy Vendor DesignsbyTami: A
Tami was a sweetheart to work with. I emailed her the pictures I wanted in the charms and she shrunk them down to the perfect size. I was even able to have the picture on one side and a quote on the other. The Charms were a beautiful addition to my bouquet and she shipped them very quickly.

Card Box – Etsy: B-
I got my card box from an etsy vendor. When it arrived half the pearls had fallen off and the boxes had come detached.For the price I paid I expected better quality but I assume when she originally sent it the glue was holding tight. I had my mom re-glue everything and she added some of her own touches. We would have been better off getting some material and boxes from Michaels and making it entirely ourselves. I would not order a card box for this price again from this vendor.

Vistaprint – Menus, Signature Drink Cards, Directionals: A
All of my paper extras were made at vistaprint.com. They have a huge selection of designs that can be used for any Wedding need. They also offer tons of coupon codes and great shipping. Everything I made from vistaprint was really nice quality and added that extra special touch at a reasonable cost.

Favors: A+
My mom did an incredible job making our 150 favors. She took a cute pink and brown box and filled them with chocolates containing nuts in them. She wrapped them with cellophane and our favor tag read “We’re Nuts About Each Other.” Everyone loved the edible favor!

Slipper Basket: A+
Also made by my mom. The slippers were a huge hit and all of them were gone within a few minutes.

Honeymoon: A++++
We always wanted to go to Hawaii for our honeymoon. We decided to go to Maui for ten days because we heard it was a wonderful mix of relaxation and fun things to do.

American Airlines: B-
We chose American Airlines because they had the only flight that would land in Hawaii while it was still daylight. With a five hour time difference and a twelve hour flight (with a two hour layover) the last thing we wanted to do was drive in an unknown place in the pitch darkness.

Economy seating sucks, there is no way to sugarcoat it. You pay $25.00 per bag in hopes that it makes it to your destination, they don’t offer you food unless you want a bag of chips for $7.00 and the leg room is non existent. I’m not blaming AA, it seems to be the case with the airline industry in general. I think I would have been more comfortable in the cargo section of the airplane, at least then I would have had some room to move my legs. If you can afford the upgrade to business class it is totally worth it (Start collecting those frequent flier miles now!!!) because unfortunately the airline didn’t care that we were on our honeymoon and I just barely survived the 12 hour flight. Thankfully that is the only downside to our Honeymoon, because the rest of our trip was total perfection.

Maui: A++++
Landing in Maui was pure paradise. It was so beautiful it almost didn’t seem real. When you looked to the left there was lush, green mountains and to the right was the beautiful blue ocean. I must have stated the phrase “it looks just like an episode of Lost” 15 times. Luckily our flight had a better landing.

Maui Weather: A++
January in Maui is technically their winter so we weren’t sure what to expect. We really lucked out because it was 85 degrees for the entire trip. No rain, no humidity, absolutely perfect!! You could sit by the pool or beach all day long and weren’t bothered by the heat at all. A crazy difference compared to the 8 degree weather New York was experiencing while we were away.

Budget Car Rental: A++
Renting a car is a must in Hawaii. Most excursions are far away from the hotel and we loved the flexibility of coming and going as we pleased. Budget Car rental was great, when they heard we were on our honeymoon they upgraded us to a gorgeous Mercury Milan. It was very comfortable and ran beautifully.

The Westin Maui Resort and Spa: A
The Westin is absolutely beautiful. There is a huge waterfall in the middle of the lobby with flamingos, ducks and koi fish. The staff is super friendly and very helpful. They have at least three pools to lounge by and the beach is right outside your door. We loved the location of the Westin because we were close to the shopping village and other restaurants to walk too.

Our Room: A
When we first arrived at the Westin they upgraded us from a partial ocean to a full ocean view room because we were on our Honeymoon. The room was clean and nice but kind of small. We called the front desk after two days and asked if they had any larger rooms and they upgraded us AGAIN to a much bigger room, in the newer building on the 8th floor. Our new view was AMAZING!! They included the upgrade for free even after we offered to pay for the move and they delivered our new room keys to us poolside!! The Westin went out of there way to make sure we were having the most amazing honeymoon and twenty minutes after we checked in they sent champagne to our room with a beautiful note congratulating us on our marriage.

Westin Breakfast Buffet: A++
The Westin has a breakfast buffet included with your stay at the hotel. I can not rave enough about the buffet. Every food you can possibly imagine for breakfast was offered to us.

Places to Eat in Maui
We love to eat. I think we ate our way threw Maui and by the end of the trip even my cotton dresses were feeling tight. Places we would recommend:

Ono Bar & Grill (Located on the Westin Property)
A great place to grab a burger, fries, salad, pizza and nachos. Super convenient as it is located on the Westin property and the food was delicious. Hubby raved about a Macadamia Nut chicken he ate here and a lady sitting next to us didn’t stop talking about her steak sliders. At night they even have live entertainment.

Leilanis (by the Whaler’s Village, a five minute walk from the Westin)
Home of the famous Hula Pie, we ate here 4 times for this dessert alone!!! Hula Pie is macadamia nut ice cream piled high on a chocolate cookie crust and topped with chocolate fudge, whipped cream and more nuts! If you save your receipt from dinner the next time you go back you get a free Hula Pie so save those dinner receipts!!!! I should add that their food was really good too. DH enjoyed their burger while I opted for turkey sandwiches and coconut dipped calamari!!

Pita Paradise (two locations, in Kihei and Wailea)
Amazing gyro and Greek salads. A nice change of pace from all the burgers, fries and pizza we were eating. Very friendly staff and a nice outdoor sitting area. Reminded us of Astoria.

Cool Cat Café (Located in Lahaiana, tons of shopping around this area as well)
Voted Maui’s Best Burger Five Years in a row and we had to agree!!!! There is nothing left to say, just look at the picture!

Maui Excursions
They usually recommend that you book your excursions in advance because things sell out quickly, but I found it really difficult booking things from here because everything looked the same online. On our first full day in Maui we went to the Hotel Concierge and they helped us book all our excursions! If you stay at the Westin, ask for Stevie, she is such a nice lady and got us amazing deals for every activity we wanted to do.

Sunshine Helicopter Tours: A
The helicopter pilot was so nice and really funny during the entire flight. I felt very safe and comfortable with Sunshine Helicopter Tours. Seeing Maui from the air was an amazing experience. We saw craters, waterfalls, the ocean, mountains and even whales FROM THE HELICOPTER!! We got to do a touchdown on a small ranch and walk around. As you can imagine I was referencing Lost all over again. Even though we were in the bigger helicopter the shakiness of it did make me very nauseous. At one point I was breathing in and out so much the pilot asked if I was ok. I just let him know I was fine but my stomach wasn’t so good. Luckily I didn’t have to use the “Hula Bag” as they call it!

Wailele Polynesian Luau: A+
The Westin’s Luau is the only show on the Island to include Fire Dancers. We purchased VIP tickets which included: no wait on line, front row seating, alcoholic beverages before the show, a full family style dinner and the show itself.
When you entered the Luau everyone got leis and flowers for there hair. The food was delicious and plentiful and the show was very entertaining. I loved the fire dancers!! The Luau was a great introduction to Hawaiin culture.

Snorkel Adventure with Trilogy: A+++
This excursion is a must if you go to Maui!! This excursion is way more then snorkeling. Once on board you are greeted with juice, coffee, warm cinnamon buns and fresh fruit. As you set sail to the snorkel destination there is beautiful music, calm seas and information on the snorkel site as well as lessons on scuba diving if you want to be so daring. They taught us how to use the snorkel gear and snorkleing in the middle of the ocean was AMAZINGGGG!!! I couldn’t believe how you are surrounded by fish and once I got used to the snorkel mask and breathing apparatus it was very fun.

After our first snorkel destination we got on the boat where they served a delicious snack of home made tortilla chips and a pineapple/tomato salsa, it was so yummy!!

On route to our second destination we spotted whales about 20 feet from the boat and the Captain stopped so we could all take pictures and ooh and ahh. It was magical! Every time a mama whale would spurt the water, moments later the baby would do the same. I had never seen anything like it. January and February are whale season in Hawaii and they said that this year there were literally thousands of whales in the water.

We snorkeled at destination number two and although the water in that area was murky you were able to spot huge Sea Turtles!! DH even took the course on Scuba Diving while he was ON the ship and although he said it was a little scary at first it was an incredible experience. While he scuba dived, I worked on my tan safely from the boat.

As we sailed back to the docks the crew served an amazing lunch of bbq chicken, rice, salad and rolls with butter. I have never seen anything like it. By the end of the trip you felt like you were part of the Trilogy Family. We couldn’t stop talking about the amazing day we had and highly recommend it to anyone going to Maui.

The Road to Hana: B-
We heard so many mixed opinions about driving the road to Hana that we weren’t sure if we should make the journey. Miles and miles of curvy road, up a mountain, with no guard rail didn’t sound very appealing to me but my Nascar loving husband thought it was right up his alley.

Now that we lived threw the journey I can safely say, I’m glad we did it, but I would never do it again.
This road is no joke and unless you are very comfortable behind the wheel I wouldn’t attempt it. The roads are very narrow and very curvy so there are yield signs every 5 feet. Somehow it is still a TWO LANE ROAD.

If you like to hike there are many little alcoves that you can park in and see waterfalls and plant life etc.. I couldn’t understand how people were parked on the edge of the cliff and then venturing into the jungle!! If I couldn’t see whatever was out there from the road, I wasn’t going.

We did get some great pictures when I dared to leave the car and when we finally made it to the black sand beach I felt like a huge accomplishment had been made. We ate some lunch, walked around the beach but then that was kind of. it. We had to make the journey back down the dreaded Road to Hana. This time though, we were on the edge of the road closest to the cliff with no guardrail, so I kept my head forward, with clenched teeth, praying we didn’t die, while Chris kept trying to get me to look at the “beautiful view.”

A few other things to note about the Road to Hana. If you are only staying in Maui for only 3 or 4 days and plan on Island hopping I would definitely skip it. There are way better things to do and you will feel like a day was wasted in the car. If you are staying in Maui for numerous days then it’s not a bad idea to take the trip just to say you did it. You could always go to the halfway point and turn around and come back.

When you start the journey on the Road to Hana, please note: there ARE bathrooms, but there is no food and no gas stations. Please stock up before you make the trip. There is a really cute place called CJ’s Deli right before the Hana highway that packed us a wonderful picnic with sandwich's, chips, drinks, pineapple and cookies. They even included a mini cooler!!

Warren and Annabelle’s Comedy Magic Show: A
A friend of ours mentioned this show and although we thought it was going to be hokey we ended getting tickets when Stevie at Concierge also mentioned how great it was. We purchased the tickets for the combo package that included dinner with the show. I’m so glad we took everyone’s advice because the food was yummy and the show was hysterical. It was the perfect combination of humor and magic and we laughed all night long. The perfect way to spend an evening in the town.

The Heavenly Spa by Westin: A+++
Anytime I think of a honeymoon, I imagine people relaxing at a spa being pampered. Because I have never had a professional massage before I figured our honeymoon was the perfect place to book a couples massage. My massage was 60 minutes of pure bliss. The masseuse was excellent and the ambiance was so relaxing. We lounged around in white robes drinking green tea munching on almonds and dried fruit. They encouraged us to stay at the spa even after our massages enjoying the view and reading magazines. I wish we had booked a massage everyday of the trip and I told DH I would love a massage for every future holiday or occassion! LOL

We had the most amazing time in Maui and never wanted our honeymoon to end. Here are a few more pictures of the trip!!
