Officiant Help 9/26/2015
We are having a friend Marry us on 9/26/15. He was ordained online however we are nervous about the legality of it. I talked to representatives at the town hall where we are getting our marriage license and they said that'NYC has legislation that acknowledges internet ministers, Suffolk County does not. It might be best to have someone like a judge, minister or marriage officer legalize the marriage and then you can have your internet minister perform the ceremony.'
Instead of that option I am wondering If I could pay a judge, minister, or marriage officer a small fee to come to the venue that day to take care of the legal aspect so this way it all happens on the same date.
Town hall does it M-Fri so we would have a different date on our marriage license then when our actual ceremony was.
Any advice??
