Re: Greek Brides??

I forgot to tell you ladies... let me preface first!

My favorite thing to eat in Greece is the 'tost'!!!! Or what we would call, a 'squished grilled cheese' sandwisch (with other good stuff inside like ham or tomato).

OK, so we went to register and guess what I found:

A Krups panini maker! They had them at fortunoff and macy's!

Finally, real tost! Not those pocket-sndwich/waffle-maker things... a real tost maker. Get some slice gouda... add some tomato... and squish away!!!! Or cheese, grilled chicken, and roasted peppers with honey mustard on panini bread... and squish squish squish. As you can see, I am very emotional about this discovery!!!!

OK, I'll stop the madness now.

Re: Greek Brides??

Ok, powerstation just called me and wanted to know what FH and I decided - we havent decided anything - kinda put everything on hold until i settle into my schedule.

So, i told him that i still need to discuss with FH but we do know that if we hired them we would want him to play the bouzouki and we want to hear Nick sing first. (Nick is coming back Sept 15th) - He tells me that they are the same thing - (fine according to you - i would like to have my own opinion) -

He then proceeds to tell me that another couple is interested in Jan 9th. Somehow - i am not believeing that, but that is ok because other places have told us the same - they just want to make sure that you book.

- i need to get back to this planning - i really want to settle the band - FH is really iffy about powerstation's price. We still have to go hear how chris zavolas sounds also.

Too too much to do!

Re: Greek Brides??

What part of greece are you from again. You should hear my band saga. Apparently a band from Hios will be coming for the winter and FH wants to book this band, instead of AF. We'll see. His point is a v good one, that his family does provide a lot of money in tips and why should the band make soooo much from both our pockets (ie, us and our guests). Can't really argue that one. Shall see.

Re: Greek Brides??

I'm a mutt! My mom is from drosia - which is a suburb of athens (near kifisia - whcih most people know) - my dad is from Simi and Crete (although not really in touch with either island).

FH on the other hand is 100% from hios. So he might be interested in that band. Is your FH from hios also? What part of greece are you from?

Re: Greek Brides??

Georgia: FH's parents are pushing us to book Powerstation but I want to go hear Nick first. Fh just told them to book them. Fh's reasoning for not having to go hear Nick sing was that we were going to get Nick or John anyway, so what does it matter Do you understand this reasoning??? I sure don't

Re: Greek Brides??

I am so glad I got the band out of the way!!!! It was such a hassle!!! Good Luck... once you finally make your choice, you'll feel so relieved!

Marcella, I kind of see what your FI is saying... it makes sense... I think I am just weird!

For anyone interested, I checked my registry. The panini maker is $79.99 at Macy's (I am pretty sure it cost the same at Fortunoff too). They sell another similar one, but it was another brand (I dont remember which of the two stores had it) and that one was $40 or $50. And Wolfgang Puck also sells one... I saw him on one of the shopping networks one day...

Found it!! and it's on sale!!Wolfgagng Puck 'TOST' Maker

Re: Greek Brides??

Hey girls lemme ask you - how involved is FI in planning wedding/ getting stuff for the future house...

I have a very involved husband to be (which is a distant from my father who I love but can't boil water forget furnish a house LOL) and we are torn between what we want for a house. It is just culture shock for me to see a man so involved in this type of decision and though I love that he's involved, I'm used to the girlies having the final decision. Especially when there are MAJOR differences in what we want. He wants modern and masculine, I want traditional and girlie

I was just wondering with this new generation of guy, is anyone else having him majorly involved in everything or does he just back off

My dad came home from Greece on Friday and brought home my stefana!! They did such an amazing job on them!!!! I had them change the ribbon to match the color of my dress because the ribbon it came with I didn't like. I am sooo happy and relieved to have another thing crossed off my list! YAY!!!
Also, FH and I are going to check out limos tomorrow. We have an appt. with Royalty. I'll let you girls know how it goes.

Re: Greek Brides??

Olgaki,

Don't mean to be harsh here, but if he is willing to so some work in the matter, and doesn't leave it ALL up to you, I think that is a positive thing. I don't think it should all be my way or the Highway. But I do believe in maybe a room of his own that is masculine and maybe allows his personalilty to come through. Whether he likes sailboats, or has a collection of baseball something or other.

Re: Greek Brides??

Lenitsa...I'm from Lamia too. What a small world.

Olga...My husband was very involved too which has both its positives and negatives. I'm used to my dad and two brothers who are clueless when it comes to these things. My husband and I fought for two weeks on what formal plates to get...I won.

Re: Greek Brides??

lol I won too! I have no problem with him being involved I love it because he is always involved in everything I do - but it's just weird to see it. Does that make sense? Also, because these are first generation boys being involved I don't think they understant what looks nice or what I like from what is practical. The boy hands me plain black square plates as formal china Now what do you do with that lol

Lennitsa - if it was as easy as a baseball card collection I would have no problemo lol He wants a marble and iron bedroom set and I have absolutley no want for that lol Plus it costs a BUNDLE!!! We are just starting out lol
