Tom: 'I Can't Wait to Get Married'

Father's Day came early to the Late Show with David Letterman, where on Tuesday night new dad Tom Cruise gushed about his new daughter Suri – and his finacée Katie Holmes.

'She's a beauty,' said the proud new papa of his two-week-old daughter, adding, 'It's crazy.'

David Letterman, who himself is dad to 2-year-old Harry, then interjected: 'By the way, you're not married.'

'Did you have to bring it up?' Cruise shot back just as glibly as Letterman delivered his observation. But then Cruise said, 'I can't wait to get married.' He was mum on the details, though he has said he and Holmes plan to wed sometime this summer.

As the two men discussed the joys and responsibilities of fatherhood, Letterman asked his guest to describe the arrival of his baby. Said Cruise: 'It's exciting and kind of surreal because, all of a sudden, it's happening. Suddenly there's going to be this other person, and I found myself wanting to relish every moment and not forget it.'

Was the delivery a long process, Letterman wondered? 'No,' said Cruise. 'It happened quickly.'

Cruise also said the baby is now up to 7 lbs., 10 oz., has a lot of hair, and remains at home with her mother, while he travels to promote his new movie, Mission: Impossible III, which opens Friday.

'Kate and I can't take our eyes off of her,' said Cruise, who also added that Holmes's mother and his own are providing most of the baby advice they require. Of Holmes, Cruise said, 'She's magnificent. She has done so well … an incredible woman.'

'She's so good looking,' commented Letterman.

'That's the first thing I noticed,' replied Cruise.

On Wednesday, Cruise continued his publicity blitz, appearing on Live with Regis and Kelly. As for how he and Katie share parenting tasks: 'She's a woman so she does the womanly things,” Cruise said indicating breastfeeding. His duties, he said, include burping the baby and changing diapers.

In terms of the lack of sleep that comes with having an infant, Cruise, laughed: 'I don’t sleep much anyway.'

Cruise will continue promoting his new movie on Wednesday by zipping through Manhattan via fire engine, speedboat, helicopter, sports car and subway to do interviews, as well as attend the film’s New York premiere

Britney Cuts Sales Price of NY Apartment

Britney Spears has stepped up plans to sell her downtown Manhattan penthouse, which has been on the market for nearly two years – since before her marriage to Kevin Federline and the birth of their son, Sean Preston.

The 4,000-sq.-ft., three bedroom, four and a half bathroom, four-floor apartment (which also has a media room, library and terrace), has a new asking price of $4.55 million, reduced from the previous $4.95 million, reports the New York Observer and confirmed by the pop princess's real-estate broker.

Spears, 24, bought the apartment in 2002 for $3 million and then put it on the market in 2004 – for $6 million, says the paper. Last year the price came down to $4.95 million. The latest reduction is new.

'At this price, it's an extremely attractive purchase for the spring – a time to enjoy the terrace,' says realtor Adam Modler.

Previous owners of Spears's pad were Rolling Stone Keith Richards and hip-hop mogul Russell Simmons, while Cher was once also a neighbor.

As for what attracts music people to the building, it could be that its ground floor is taken up with a sort of retail landmark: Tower Records.

On today’s Oprah Winfrey Show, Teri Hatcher of Desperate Housewives opens up about her short-lived romance with Ryan Seacrest and the infamous shots of them kissing on the beach. According to Hatcher, the American Idol host dumped her an hour after the photos were taken.

Teri: “It was our third date, but it was our first alone. We went to this shacky place, way way outside of L.A…”

Oprah: “How did the paparazzi get there?”

Teri: I have no idea, but interestingly enough I haven’t seen him since that day.”

Oprah: “Not a word since then? What did he say? What did he say when the pictures came out?”

Teri: “The pictures came out three days later. We knew they had been taken. It must’ve bothered him though — bothered him enough that an hour after they were taken he called and said ‘I don’t think I can do this with you.’”

Oprah: “He did? Why?”

Teri: “I don’t know.”

Oprah: “Was it because you were too high profile?”

Teri: “It was because I ate too much lobster. [laughs] No you’d have to ask him.”

(May 2) -- Denise Richards says Heather Locklear has betrayed her.


In an exclusive interview with TMZ, Richards denies she was involved with Richie Sambora, the estranged husband of Locklear, before Locklear and Sambora split.

'Heather knows why and when her marriage ended with Richie and she knows why my marriage ended with Charlie (Sheen),' Richards said when TMZ caught up with her on Tuesday.


Richards says comments by Locklear and David Spade, who suggested Richards had back-stabbed Locklear, were a 'betrayal.'


'It is a betrayal because a lot of it isn't true and they know that and that's what's hard,' Richards said. 'I have to try and just stay focused on my kids and forget that part of it as difficult as it is.'


Richards also tells TMZ that she stands by the allegations she has made against Sheen in their divorce. 'I stand by it and it's sad that it's gotten to this,' she says. 'My focus is just getting my girls through this because it's very, very difficult and very sad.'


Next: Denise Richards has been telling her friends and reps that Heather Locklear was unfaithful. Locklear source says 'ridiculous.'

Recent American Idol castoff Kellie Pickler has been open about her the fact that her father is currently serving out a prison sentence. Now 41-year-old Clyde “Bo” Pickler Jr. — in jail on charges of felony battery and aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer/firefighter/EMT — has written a letter to his daughter, which was printed in The Stanly News and Press.

“Kellie has really touched my life with all she has overcome,” he wrote. “I can take no credit for anything she has accomplished in her 19 years of life. I’m only regretting the fact that I’m not there to support her in person. […]

“No, I’ve not been the father (by far) that I should have been. But, our love for each other is what it is. I’m her daddy and she’s my little girl, just like anyone else.”

Admitting that his life has been full of bad choices, the elder Pickler - who is serving a 45-month sentence and is slated for release May 12 - said there’s one major difference in Kellie and he.

“She learned from my mistakes and I didn’t.”

X-Men: The Last Stand director Brett Ratner never bothered to tell his “friend” Lindsay Lohan that he had a girlfriend - resulting in a loud, messy fight between the young star and Romanian IMG model Alina Puscau at Ratner’s home last week.

Late Monday night, Lohan - who has become close friends with the director in the past month - and a pal decided to pop in on Ratner unannounced. But once at the house, Lohan was shocked when she found Ratner in bed with his girlfriend, Puscau.

“Alina jumped out of bed and went ballistic,” another source said. “They started screaming at each other and took the fight first into the living room and then out to the driveway while Brett hid in the bedroom.

“Lindsay said she could get Alina deported and left.”

My aunt is a Jehovah's Witness and they have to do things like this too....they have to lie when they visit me...they say they are 'counselling me to the truth' but in reality, i banned such talk years ago if she wanted to be in my life.....and it worked...also, in order for my cousin to be a BM i had to reassure them all that it was NOT in a church (which it wasn't going to be, but still) so that there was no conflict! I think it's funny that it's ok if a preacher performs the ceremony for her to be a part of it, but it can't be physically in a church!

I have plenty of family memebers who are Jehovah's Witnesses. They never have to lie to visit me or any other family members who aren't ' in the truth' so they put it. And they def, dont' have to give birth in that matter. But it is true, according to their religion that they shouldn't participate in anything whether it be wedding ,funeral, or anything for that matter in a church. But it's still their choice if they do.

Absolutely 100% agree with smurray pn all points. My immediate family (siblings) are Jehova's Witnesses and we visit each other all the time...like all week long!! And not once have they preached to me or tried to.

We had recently been hearing renewed talk of marital turmoil between Reese Witherspoon and Ryan Phillipe, but we didn't want to listen to our sources, who mention the big D word, divorce.

However, it seems like things have gotten so bad between Ryan and Reese that they are having trouble keeping up their happy facade.

It all came to a boil on Wednesday night when the couple went to dinner at The Ivy on Robertson Blvd, but their evening was anything but romantic.

'Ryan and Reese got into a huge fight,' a source tells PerezHilton.com.

The once golden pair were reportedly arguing loudly in public.

'We were all shocked,' notes a spywitness. 'Ryan and Reese were screaming at each other as they left. There were paparazzi there, and yet they were still screaming at each other!'

Damn. The **** has hit the fan on the hot tin roof!

When you're arguing in front of the paparazzi, you know the problems are big.

Recounts a stunned eyewitness, 'I couldn't hear exactly what they were arguing about, but Ryan stormed out of The Ivy at around 9:30 PM and Reese went running after him. She kept calling his name and he kept walking. He turned around once and said 'STOP!' It was so sad!'

Wow.

'They must have had a car waiting,' observes our source. 'They went storming down the block, turned the corner and then I lost sight of them. Reese was wearing her sunglasses [at night] and I it was hard to tell from far way, but it seemed like tears were streaming down her face.'

This sounds pretty bad.

We hope Reese and Ryan can work it out.

TORONTO -- The jilted wife of Dean McDermott is reportedly dishing the dirt on how the actor dumped her for Tori Spelling.

The New York Post's famed Page Six reports that Canadian TV personality Mary Jo Eustace, best known for her stint hosting the cooking show What's For Dinner, is shopping around a tell-all book about the ignominious collapse of her marriage.

The tale would reportedly reveal how McDermott, her actor-husband of 12 years, bedded the also-married star only months after he and Eustace, 45, adopted a baby girl, Lola.

The book proposal for My Husband Left Me for Tori Spelling begins with McDermott, 38, jetting off to shoot a TV movie with the former 90210 star, then returning to coldly report that he'd slept with her. 'We're soulmates. She loves me unconditionally,' McDermott said, according to Page Six. 'I don't love you anymore. And I don't respect you. I haven't for a very long time.'

'Wasn't it just two months ago that he'd said he'd never been more in love with me or proud of me?' writes Eustace, who'd moved to California so McDermott could chase his dreams of fame.



Adding insult to injury, she says, he got a tattoo on his wrist that read 'Truly, Madly, Deeply, Tori' - but didn't have money to pay the electricity bills.

Page Six says Spelling and McDermott, who are engaged, issued a joint statement in which they called the book proposal 'opportunistic and undignified.'
