It was probably Glemar. We did meet with them and they were very reasonable but just not what we were looking for.
I totally agree!

I use postcards as my table cards, but I also stuck numbers on them. I'm sure it'll be fine to use table names instead of numbers. The Swan Club will give you a layout of the room with the tables already numbered. You could write the table number on the back of your table card (like in the bottom corner) just so SC knows how to set it up.
I got married in the Garden Room on October 4 and will be posting a review with pictures in the next week or so. :)
yeahhhh another SC review![]()

Re: **OFFICIAL SWAN CLUB THREAD**
Hi, Not getting married until 2010, but saw this thread and figured you'd be the right people to ask! I just posted something similar in BHB also.FH and I just started looking at RHs, and we both thought the Swan club was beautiful, and the price was definitely more in our range.
We will only have probably around 100 people, so that leaves us with the Contessa and Garden Rooms. Both of us really liked the Garden Room Cocktail hour, especially because FH wants the option of an indoor CH for our older guests.
Our only concern about the Garden Room is that it is right below the Contessa Room. Can you hear anything if there is a wedding going on in the Contessa room right above it?
What are your opinions about the 2 rooms??
Sorry this is so long!

I don't think you would be able to hear anything from the Contessa room because you would be having your own music so it would drown out any noise from the Contessa room. I also booked the Garden room but for March of 2010 also.

I was in the Garden Room 2 weeks ago and didn't hear anything from the party going on upstairs, so don't worry :)The only thing I disliked about the Garden Room was the low ceiling. I couldn't do an adequate bouquet toss. Other than that, I loved the room.

O crap i never thought about that with the low ceilings :-/. Where did you have your cake, your seating cards and your cardbox if you had one? I've been thinking where would i have these things.

The cake was set up between the DJ and the bar. When it came time to cut the cake, they wheeled it out to the middle of the dance floor. I had the seating cards set up on a table inside the Pavilion so guests could pick up their cards during cocktail hour. The cardbox and guest book were set up on a table right outside the Pavilion.

I like where the seating cards would be. Was the cake safe between the dj and the bar, i'm just nervous about that.

I never really posted after my wedding, either, and have been working on my review, slowly but surely! We also had Joe as our MD, and he was great (although my ILs didnt like him but oh well for them LOL). I hated my bridal attendant, which I did warn both Karin AND SparkyANDAng about, and I think both requested someone else. My BA's name was Katina and she was my biggest annoyance that day, I swear! Other than her, TSC was awesome!!! Nothing but rave reviews

Re: **OFFICIAL SWAN CLUB THREAD**
My review! Feel free to send me FM if you have any questions. :)---------------------------------------------------------------------
The Swan Club was an absolutely beautiful venue. Many of our guests were amazed by how beautiful the gardens were. The food was just as wonderful. Guests were talking about the cocktail hour weeks after the wedding was over. They were amazed by how much food there was during the cocktail hour and how delicious the short ribs were (make sure you get the short ribs!!). Many of the guests ate so much during cocktail hour that they had no room to eat the four course meal that followed! The wedding cake was pretty and tasted good, although their bakery can’t do anything too complicated. I would suggest emailing several ideas to your maitre’d and ask if the baker is capable of designing the cake like them.
We were in the Garden Room, and the only complaint I had about it was the low ceiling. I had to do a low bouquet toss, and it wasn’t quite successful. Other than that, I loved the layout. The Garden Room has its own bathrooms, so guests did not have to go upstairs or share bathrooms with the other parties. Two bars were set up – one by the restrooms and one by the dance floor. I didn’t hear any complaints about them. We brought our party favors and name cards to the Swan Club the Tuesday before the wedding, and they were set up by the staff just as instructed. The name cards were set up on a table inside the Pavilion where the cocktail hour was held. We had our guest table set up on the wooden platform right outside the Pavilion.
Our maitre’d was great from the start. We met with her about a month before the wedding to select our menu, choose our linens, and to answer any questions that we had. I even called her 2 days before the wedding to change the head count, and she said no problem and that if fewer guests showed than what we paid for, she would refund us after the wedding. As expected, we had a few no shows, and we received a refund in the mail this week! I was very pleasantly surprised that the Swan Club does this because I know many reception halls will not refund for no shows. I wish I could say that our maitre’d was amazing from start to finish, but I can’t. Our wedding went more perfectly and smoothly than we could have ever dreamed until the last 20 minutes of the reception when the maitre’d came up to me holding the envelope that our groomsman had given to her as her tip. She said to me, “I just got this envelope and I wanted to make sure I got the right one because it only has $xxx in it. Usually, people give $3-$5/head, and this is less than that.” I was completely SHOCKED that she complained about her tip and that she complained to ME instead of to the groomsman who gave her the envelope. What a way to send off the bride and groom… But I have to say that our maitre’d did do an excellent job welcoming us, making sure we were doing well the whole night, and making things run smoothly, but we thought the tip we gave her was sufficient.
We had Vanessa as our bridal attendant, and she was awesome. When I called the week of my wedding to find out who my bridal attendant would be, I was told I would have Katina. Because of what RisiLeigh said about her, I requested someone else, and the Swan Club came through! My husband and I chilled in the bridal suite for half of the cocktail hour, and Vanessa made sure we had enough to drink and eat while we were up there. She was also great in letting us know what would be happening next. I didn’t have to worry about a thing!

Love the review!!!That's excellent to hear that they refund for any guests that did not show. What color linens do they offer just curious? That was terrible about the maitre'd

They have a pretty wide selection of linens. Our wedding colors were sage green and chocolate brown. They only had hunter green table cloths, not sage, so we went w/ brown table cloths and ivory napkins.

Wow I am SO glad that my complaints about Katina stopped you girls from having her! I really wish I didn't tip her what we did, but my dad had already filled and sealed the tip envelopes, so oh well. I wonder if they are wondering why no one wants Katina, now
