How much is your wedding going to cost?

I am really set on having a wedding in NYC where me and my fiancée currently live. His family is from NJ and my family is from LI. Anyway you look at it looks like the price per person for the reception is going to be about $300 per person (including tax and gratutity). Good news is I am having a small wedding about 175.

Out of curiosity, how much cheaper are the suburbs?

We're using the Fox Hollow (Long Island) and our wedding is a Sunday Night - I think (don't quote me) but a Saturday Night would probably be around $110.

Did you check out Mayfair Farms in New Jersey? It was gorgeous, and the prices were great!

Re: How much is your wedding going to cost?

Just wanted to say....175 people is not that small!! That a decent size wedding!!

I am too getting married at Fox Hollow...for a friday night in September, we're paying 90 pp before tax and gratuity. With that included its 113/head and we have to guarantee 175.

There are tons of beautiful places WAY less than $300/person!!

Good luck!

$300 per person is very expensive - even for an NYC venue - $175 is the average.

Re: How much is your wedding going to cost?

LI halls will be much cheaper per person than $300. Crescent and Flowerfields on a holiday weekend in Sept were around $190 plus tax and gratuity and those places are top notch (in my opinion)

check out LI Halls, it will be worth it!

Re: How much is your wedding going to cost?

thanks for the help. we are trying to have it in a loft which requires a site fee from 5000 - 15000. Caterers are an additional 175 (for chairs, liquor and staff).

I might have to start considering other options :(

Re: How much is your wedding going to cost?

there is a sites and services website that lists halls in suffolk and nassau. It give you an estimate price per person and other information. I can't remember it right now, but if I do I'll post

anyone else know the sites and services website?

Maybe type that into google? It was very helpful to me

Re: How much is your wedding going to cost?

I am getting married at the Watermill & for a friday night in Nov we are paying $93 a person plus tax & gratuity & that is the price with the added seafood boat b/c FH & I just love seafood. We also priced out the fox hollow for the same day & it was $75 but I felt the Watermill could accomodate our never ending guest list (but that is a whole nother thread).

I am estimating about $75k - it just got so out of control.

ETA: Have a shorter engagement - our was too long and we just keep adding things!

Re: How much is your wedding going to cost?

My Fi and i REALLY wanted a NYC wedding so bad. We live on LI and are having a Fri wedding so that was one reason we decded against it (traffic into NYC on a FRi night). #2 the prices in NYC were a bot higher and less likely to negotiate.
Im paying $125 w/ tax/grat for an over the top package which includes an amazing CT hr w/ seafood bar etc, 5 hr recept w/ viennese. Milleridge Cottage
