it usually is for me too... but i was reading a thread on when you should get your invites & that you should order them 5 months b4.... uhhhh hellooooooooo - that's the stage that i'm at now.... then i was reading about $$$ and all that good stuff...

Don't stress too much on your invites I got mine pretty quick. Someone was even saying the Party City (which was having a sale on invites) gets them for you REALLY fast!

The money thing blows my mind too. When Excel totals how much we have spent I am like WHAT ARE WE THINKING! Then I remind myself -- memories memories.

This past weekend we were looking again at our family jewelers for bands. I still keeping picking out the same one for $4000.00. I keep saying no way. FI felt bad and said get it. I came home and cried that I spent that kind of money on my ring. He won't go into the diamond district. Believe it or not he was fighting me about returning the ring. Hours later I got him to go to Macys and I found a ring for less than $1700 and I feel much better about that! So the money thing gets me too!

Metoo, Me too! I'm at my wits end! I really want to have Wild Rose do my video. I met with Marie yesterday and I was prepared to put a down payment...but she was the sweetest, most wonderful person. Before we said anything, she said she's save the date for us for a week! The problem is after we met with ADA Studio for our photos, my fiance found out they also do video,which is at least 600 bucks less than WR!!! and now if we booked both, we'll get more discounts! $$$ it's all about hte $$$. IF I had unlimited resources, I'd love to go with WR--I just love her work. Sorry, guys, just needed to vent.

Christine I know what you mean. I had that with a certain photographer. He was recommended by a friend. I loved his work but he was more than my florist, new photographer and videographer combined. So that ended that!

ugh - why do men think it's funny to mess with us at this point in our lives... FI just visited me @ school and was like - oh... I'm gonna have to find that list.... i know it's at home somewhere.... though i think i put it in one of the papers which was taken out to recycle......

Jamie, please tell me you never had a problem with East Wind. I was there yesterday to make reservations for my wedding and can you believe those super expensive rooms at the Inn are already fully booked the night before my wedding (I'm getting married on a Sunday) I wnated to stay there the night before and do my wedding day preparations in one of the suites...now I have to come up with a new plan. Where do I take my photographer and videographer? (who I haven't booked!Aarghhhh

Nope no problems with them at all. When we booked them we had heard two things from our minister about them, that concerned me. We drove right to East Wind. Ken the owner was there. One thing, he said was absolutely not true and the other he would look into. He told me that I should come to the next showcase. It was like a week later. Ken made it a point to find my mother and I at the showcase (if you can imagine with all the people there) he explained everything. He had looked into it and it was not anything big. We were so impressed that he did that we booked right that minute. So problems with East Wind not a one. I am so excited about getting married.

No, I cannot believe that they are completely booked. But I know that they were reserved completely for some golf thing and something else for NBC. No need to worry about East Wind!

With the photographer thing we had them put in our contract that we could have the Estate 1 hour before the wedding and that if there was no other bride at Cottage that we could take pictures there too.

Oh, yeah, I know Ken is really into what he does...he just loves it! He did the same thing with us at the showcase we went to...he came up to us and said something which made us feel like he really knew us. He's One of the main reasons we booked with EW. My fiance said Ken makes it a point to actually recognize the couples and spend time with them, which is very nice.
I'll inquire about the Country Garden site...it actually has nicer grounds. Diance, one of the people we met with yesterday said we talk about the details of photography on hte grounds a couple of weeks before hte wedding. She said they have a photo coordinator who works with scheduling photo sessions with all the brides getting married that day. My actual problem is getting ready before the wedding--getting dressed and hair, make-up, etc. that's really what I wanted to have done in their suite. My mother's house is just too far away and I wasn't really planning on getting limos since we're getting married in the courtyard. It just complicates things but now my lovey is thinking of renting 2 b eachhouses in Davis Park, Fire Island for 1 week and maybe I can get dressed there, etc...I just hope my photographer and videographer don't charge extra for it!
For what it costs to have a suite in the Inn for 2 nights, he said we can get 1 beach house for a week! Hmmm....maybe things will work out for the best after all.

I just saw the completed Inn for the first time last month VERY NICE!! Not that I had a doubt that it would be.

Did you book a room at the Inn for the night of your wedding?

How are your plans going?

No we haven't booked a room yet so now i'm starting to feel nervous Plans are going good-we still have limos and invited left to do but then pretty much all set.
