Ben. Moore v. Behr paints
Has anyone had positive or negative experiences with either of these they could share? Are either close to the swatches? Is one or the other better for preventing cracking in apts w/ lots of heat?

Re: Ben. Moore v. Behr paints
I found BM to be much better than Behr. Benjamin Moore has always been close to the swatches, but always test a small amt. on your wall before painting to be sure you like it under different lighting conditions.

I have never used Behr, but i LOVE BM. My brother's friend is a painter, and that is all he uses.

Re: Ben. Moore v. Behr paints
We have repainted most of our house in the last year and have only used Benjamin Moore. We primarily used the Matte Satin finish paint because it was advertised as being very easy to clean. I can tell you from recent experience that it lives up to it's advertising. My 4 year old nephew was here last week and decided to write on my stairway wall with black ballpoint pen. I used a sponge and soap and after scrubbing for a few minutes it all came out. I was truly amazed! The colors are true and I would not use anything else.

Re: Ben. Moore v. Behr paints
Ive heard from many that BM is the best. But since I live close to a Home Depot, I only have experience with Behr and Ralph Lauren. I found that one of teh Behr colors I used was not close to the swatch at all. I picked a taupe and it came out a light beige. The other color I chose was a blue and it too was lighter, but only a few shades. The Ralph Lauren I used was spot on.

Another vote for Benjamin Moore. I don't know anything about Behr. I know BM is expensive but in my opinion it's worth it. Very true to color.

We have used behr and I am not crazy about it. It is a thick paint. And yes, I stirred. A lot.

Re: Ben. Moore v. Behr paints
anyone try that Eraser sponge by Mr. Clean, it cleans marks, crayons on your painted walls, it is GREAT
It just popped into my head when hearing some stories about kids drawing on the walls.

Re: Ben. Moore v. Behr paints
I have never used BM, but I always use Behr. I have never had any problems with the colors that I have picked. As for coverage, I am always pretty happy with the way it covers. This last time, we painted over a mural on our wall (nursery from the last homeowner) and it covered very well! There were only a couple of places we had to go over it twice to get a black cow and something else covered!

Anna, Aboff's on Jericho Tpke in St. James carries BM. I'm sure of this because it's the only paint Patrick will use.
