Re: A sunday night wedding?

We are having our wedding on a Sunday night - it is substantially cheaper than a Sat night. It is the same fun wedding as a Sat night - I have been to Sunday night weddings and had a blast!! yes - there are some people who are going to have to go to work on Monday - but people have vacation days, sick days - or if you do have to work - you don't have to drink like a fool!

Re: A sunday night wedding?

If people party and go out for the SuperBowl... why wouldn't they come to a Sunday night wedding?? People will be there for you and your FI no matter what time, date and place. This is the happiest most exciting day of your life!

Re: A sunday night wedding?

I second that, AtticaQT... I'm also having a Sunday night wedding...

Sunday night weddings are GREAT.. FOr us, it was the only date that worked for us, and I've been to MANY Sunday weddings and had a blast.. Just do whatever is best for you and remember to make YOURSELF happy - don't worry about everyone else .. (you cannot make everyone else happy, after all...)

:)

Re: A sunday night wedding?

Can you do it around a holiday weekend, where your guests would have that Monday off? I've gone to Sunday night weddings, but just leave early. If the people really want to be there, they'll show up. Trust me.

Re: A sunday night wedding?

I'm having (gasp!) a Thursday night wedding! The people who matter most will be at your wedding no matter what day or time it is! If work the next day really bothers you, maybe you should consider a Fri. night wedding - the cost should be similar to a Sunday night.

Good luck!

Re: A sunday night wedding?

Why are they pushing for a Sunday? Is it a cost issue? If so, that is a pretty big consideration. But I do think you should try to regain control of your wedding plans!
I agree with the other girls, the people who want to be there with you will make it no matter what.

Re: A sunday night wedding?

I was looking into a Sunday but at the Milleridge it wasn't a big price difference, and Sartuday was avaialable, so ask them to keep an open mind untill you price some places.

Sunday is fine, but it may be a little harder for OOT guests.

Re: A sunday night wedding?

I always felt no matter what the date, those who matter most will be there to celebrate with you 2.

I am a sunday wedding of labor day weekend. Did you look around to see if places have a sunday of a holiday weekend.

For me the sunday of labor day actually works a lot better for out of staters. They have a few days to travel to us and return home when it's over, with minimal time off work.

People can make a sacrific and suck up a few days of feeling tired. I think it's well worth it!

Edit: I hate to say it, but you might learn who is really worth keeping in your life from who shows up,,,and with no comments

Re: A sunday night wedding?

I had a Sunday night wedding and had over 150 guests there. No one started to leave until about 10:30pm. The reception was over at 11pm, so I thought this was normal. Even family who came from PA stayed until the end (and they were driving back that same night!)

Re: A sunday night wedding?

I have been to several Sunday night weddings and they all have had great turnouts. Your family and friends will be there no matter what. And most Sunday weddings end a little earlier than Saturday night ones. They start a little earlier too, so you don't have to worry about people waking up for work.

Re: A sunday night wedding?

I am having a Sunday night wedding also. I can't get married Sat. night unless my wedding begins after 8:00 since I am Jewish and can't get married or Shabbat, and in August, Shabbat ends at 8:00.

This is your wedding! Who are you concerned that won't come because it is on a Sunday night?? Are they people you really care about?? Anyone who really cares about watching you get married will come if you get married Sunday night or Sat. night. I flew to Memphis for my friend's Sun. night wedding.

Exactly!! Have you considered a Friday night? You get a discount like you do for Sunday but most people will have off on Saturday.
