Anyone NOT into doing the bachelorette thing?

I don't want to go to a strip show, don't want to get wasted......and I'm not sure all the girls will be up here in time.....I'm thinking the whole getting our nails done is nicer and more low key and can be enjoyed by all.....

Re: Anyone NOT into doing the bachelorette thing?

We've decided to do a coed bachelor/ette party. Neither one of us is into the whole strip thing and I think the idea is kind of stupid personally. We've lived together for over 3 years so the need for a 'last hurrah' was over then! We're going to go see 'Murdered by the Mob' in manhattan w/ our bridal party and either go out to a bar or a bowling alley or someplace after that. The show includes a 3 course meal and I can get a discount thru work on the tickets. I think it will be fun. I totally agree w/ you though!

Re: Anyone NOT into doing the bachelorette thing?

I am not having one eithr. I am not a 'bar' person, wouldn't mind going to a strip club just to see what it's like (not a big deal if I don't go).

I was thinking of going to dinner with BM and then going back to my hotel room make drinks, listen to music, talk - have slumber party.

Re: Anyone NOT into doing the bachelorette thing?

Were doing the co-ed thing as well. The spa thing is probably my gift to them so that dosent really count..
We were thinking of going to a comedy club at out for dinner girls only though :)

Re: Anyone NOT into doing the bachelorette thing?

i don't want to either...some friends might try to push me to do the donkey show...but i really don't want to do anything beyond that...(if we even do that)
i can't see flaunting the fact that i'm about to get married and having creepy hands touching me. eeww...i'd much rather do dinner and a spa too or something nice and girly. but then again, i never was a party animal.

Re: Anyone NOT into doing the bachelorette thing?

FH and I thought about doing the co-ed party... we wanted to rent out a bar and have all of our friends come, maybe get a DJ or some other kind of entertainment. Some of friends thought the idea was lame, though... so I guess we decided against it.

Personally I'm not that keen on having a bachelorette party either. My BP is half friends, half FSILS, and I don't really feel like I could have the same kind of fun with both groups, you know what I mean? My FSILs know me in a totally different way....they've barely ever seen me have one drink... not to mention that I just don't have the desire to party like I did when I was younger....

Re: Anyone NOT into doing the bachelorette thing?

My friends and I always take 'girl trips' so we're planning one for my bachelorette party. The guys are going to Vegas to party, but we're going to do something more low key like 3 days at and all-inclusive resort and just do some relaxing (and maybe a little partying thrown in.) We figure if you rent a limo, go out for dinner, admission and drinks at a bar/club, etc... the whole night will wind up running at least $200 a person. For a couple hundred more we can go away and sit ona beach for a few days without having to worry about paying for food or drinks.

Re: Anyone NOT into doing the bachelorette thing?

I'm not into the stripper thing either - we're going to go to Karaoke at my favorite club at home.

However, the best Bachelorette party I ever went to was where the BP spent the day at an Outlet mall and then went to Applebees.

That was AWESOME.

We are going to go for dinner at Lucky Chang's in the city, and then go to Karaoke at this club in the village that rents PRIVATE karaoke rooms...because TRUST ME...no one wants to hear me sing!!!

Re: Anyone NOT into doing the bachelorette thing?

My friend is getting married in March and she's doing the whole
bachelorette thing. she wants us to go to dinner, bar/club hopping and
to spend a night in the city. EXPENSIVE!!!!!!!!!! but I'll do it because it
will mean alot to her for our other 2 best friends and me to go. I think
I just want to go to a really really good restaurant and just have a low-key
night. I hate clubs and bars. I don't think it would be a good atmosphere
to try to bond with your girls one last night before you become a Mrs.

I hear ya, BoogieDownBride ...No bachelorette party here, either (quite honestly I'm still having problems pickign some of my party ..arrrugh!) And it'll probably be more family than friends when I do, as you said they don't really know the 'real me' nor would I feel comfortable enough to do a crazy clubbing stripper night t hingy .. (nor do I want to.) Last BP I was in, we went clubbing and I was so bored I came home early!

I'm getting old!!!
