When looking back on your wedding day...are you %100 happy with the way things turned out?

If not...list the things that still bother you.

I'll start...

My wedding day was absolutely the most beautiful day of my life. I wish I could relive it every day. However, that being said, I recognize the things that turned out PERFECTLY and the things that didn't work out really 'irk' me sometimes. My DH thinks I am totally crazy that these things still bother me. To him - the fact that the day was beautiful is all that matters. The little things that went wrong or didn't turn out as expected don't even cross his mind.

Just curious as to how you all think...

Sorry...I forgot to list the things that bother me...
* FLOWERS (this is huge)
* The incompetency of my wedding planner and all the things that got screwed up as a result.
* That I forgot to take my veil off.

Re: When looking back on your wedding day...are you %100 happy with the way things turned out?

Yes, but my DJ was a big liar! Everything was perfect even after having to postponing it and replaning it in less then 3 weeks!

Edited to add. My Dh is the same he doesn't understand why I let the DJ get to still 500 + days later. But its just because I paid and met with all the vendors and he was in colorado for most of the planning so he never meet people and were lied too like I feel I was. Plus the DJ is on our video so every time I see it it irks me.

Re: When looking back on your wedding day...are you %100 happy with the way things turned out?

It goes without saying that I am happy about how the day turned out but there are two things I would change that still bug me - our programs and the fact that the minister's wife is in all but one of my walking up the aisle pictures.

I get so angry every time I see her it's insane. I know she was trying to help but I all I see is her, in her inappropriate dress with her boobs hanging out and I get pissed off all over again everytime I look at our proofs or video. What makes it worse is that there is nothing I can do about it.

The programs were 'professionally' done at my mother's company and came out like $hit. They didn't have any impact on the day but I still wonder why I used them. I still think no programs would have been better then what we had. I let this one go (mostly )

Re: When looking back on your wedding day...are you %100 happy with the way things turned out?

Although it was a wonderful, special, memorable, nearly perfect day, the DUMBEST thing annoys me about my wedding...

After proofing my ceremony program, which was perfect, it was sent to the printer and came back with a typo in my friend's last name. Of course, it was 3 days before the big day and there was no time to correct it.

Now I KNOW this is such a small trivial thing, but it irks me to this day...

Re: When looking back on your wedding day...are you %100 happy with the way things turned out?

my day too was PERFECT - however, 2 small things still bother me (and husband can't understand why) -

my mom and I BOTH forgto to pick up the balloons for my parents' house for the day of the wedding at the florist.
the florist thought we were picking them up and we thought she was dropping them off - oh well :)

also, I had ordered wristlets for my mom, MIL, grandmother, readers and aunts - box with aunts, grandmother, MIL and readers made it to the church - under a pew!!!
We only noticed them the next day - so they all just laughed and wore them then. i was disappointed for the pictures though - the roses on them all would have looked so great.

Re: When looking back on your wedding day...are you %100 happy with the way things turned out?

I wouldn't say there is anything I regret, except maybe NOT hiring a wedding planner.

I would say, I learned a lot about people and I never want to have to be in a situation like that ever again. Mind you, this is mostly my OWN family. I RESENT till this day and probably for a very very long time, that my family truly thought my wedding was about them. Whether it be a 'vacation' to New York (not a vacation, MY WEDDING), or not wanting to hurt their childs feelings. My Aunt decided that her older son, who did a reading, shouldn't be left out of the pictures. I do not have a single picture of just my BP w/ ring bearers! I will have him airbrushed out! I am so livid at most of my family- the stories are endless.
This one is a classic- the day before my wedding... my cousin from Maine writes an e-mail asking if I or my MOM can pick a broke relative up at the airport!?!? WTF- The day of my wedding?????? If you're that broke, stay home! ugh- I get fired up, and then, I focus on all the good things, and I can let it go. Thank God for my friends!!!!!!!!

Re: When looking back on your wedding day...are you %100 happy with the way things turned out?

I think its normal to have thoughts on how I could've done something differently but all in all I had an amazing day and I was happy with my choices.
Some things I would change are:
I would have put Peonies on my wedding cake instead of roses (since I had Peonies everywhere)
I might have changed my hair a little bit
I would have made sure that my dress fit tighter (I lost weight right before the wedding)

Re: When looking back on your wedding day...are you %100 happy with the way things turned out?

I have many things that still bother me about that day. Don't get me wrong I loved my wedding day but there were so many bumps in the road. If I could change things I would hire a different limo company and I would have chosen a different MOH. All of my other vendors were amazing and I could not have asked for more!

Re: When looking back on your wedding day...are you %100 happy with the way things turned out?

i had a wonderful day but there are plenty of things i would improve upon if i had it to do over again.

-tighter/better fitting gown (it was slipping down a little bit)

-take more pictures with my family members (i don't have enough of my mom & close family)

-band instead of a DJ (our DJ was great, but every time i go to a wedding now, i always love the bands)

but those things certainly didn't ruin my day, our wedding was amazing!

Re: When looking back on your wedding day...are you %100 happy with the way things turned out?

For the most part we had a wonderful, gorgeous wedding.... But there are those few things and they will bother me for a long time to come.... I know I'm being somewhat silly

- that my mom's cousin didn't fake a heart attack the night before the wedding (she wasn't getting enough attention) and go to the ER and keep my mom and brother up the entire night. My mom and brother were completely exhausted the day of the wedding and my mom sort of picked a fight with me.

- that I had my dress altered at a different place, since they decided to completely redesign the bodice for no apparent reason right before the wedding (and also, as a result it kept slipping down the whole night)

- that my florist didn't have a life crisis right before the wedding and claim that we owed her money that we had already paid (I had to track cashed checks down through the bank to prove to her that not only did we pay, but she'd already cashed the checks the day before the wedding) She still was pretty mean on the wedding day.

- there are a few pictures that I meant to take that didn't happen....

Re: When looking back on your wedding day...are you %100 happy with the way things turned out?

Looking back, I am very happy with the way our entire day went. We were calm, our vendors were outstanding, and everyone we wanted at the wedding was there.

There are only a couple of things I would have changed after having gone through the whole day.

1. We were very rushed taking pictures since we had a Sunday wedding and a full mass, plus a 40 minute ride out to the reception hall. If we had done just a ceremony, or got married on a Saturday, that would have been alleviated.

2. There are some photos that our photographer 'forgot' to take. Some I'm ok with, but there are a couple that I regret not having at all.
