Is anyone putting off the honeymoon trip?

Hey Ladies..

I am so frustrated with all this planning. I don't know where to turn anymore. FH has officially moved in with my family and I gave him, the simple job of finding info about the honeymoon to Aruba..and he was not much help. I feel like going on the honeymoon maybe 1 month after. I can't take all this planning alone. It urks me sometimes....

Thank GOD, I have my mother who has been my ONLY....... great help.

Thanks for listening.

Re: Is anyone putting off the honeymoon trip?

I hear that, it is slowly starting to make sense to me. I might just go away in Sept.

Re: Is anyone putting off the honeymoon trip?

Sorry you're dealing with this.

We're getting married in September and, for a number of reasons, aren't planning to honeymoon until the following March or April.

There is no rule that says you have to go right away!

Re: Is anyone putting off the honeymoon trip?

Well just call up travel agent and find out what they have going on. Are you looking for an all inclusive?

Re: Is anyone putting off the honeymoon trip?

sorry you have stress.
We had to split our HM, so we did one week right after the wedding & we are doing another week during my spring break (march 1st)

I know a lot of people that put off the HM. Sometimes you need to be home after your wedding & it is just not possible to leave right away.

Re: Is anyone putting off the honeymoon trip?

we are most likely going to do one week after the wedding at an all-inclusive then do another vacation around feb.

I can't see doing a long vacation while the weather is still nice here in NY. (early sept)

Re: Is anyone putting off the honeymoon trip?

Fh is a teacher so we are going away on a mini moon, and then in July going on our honeymoon. It really makes sense , that way you can look forward to a nice trip and be relaxed, etc. I know a lot of people who did this even though they were not teachers. I know I get nuts trying to pack etc right b4 a big trip, I can only imagine what it is like with a wedding also .

Re: Is anyone putting off the honeymoon trip?

We couldn't take the long honeymoon we wanted b/c of time contraints. We are both taking a week off before the wedding just to come to NY.
So we are planning a mini-moon to Napa Valley for four days after and then plan on going to Hawaii on our 1 year anniversary. It worked for us!

Re: Is anyone putting off the honeymoon trip?

Hi Girlz

Thanks for responding!!!!

I am not looking for an all inclusive, just possible the holiday Inn/Ramada..... Maybe for 5 days.

$$ has been so tight, it is not funny anymore.

I want to go to Aruba...but when I check the airfare ....i feel like fainting ON SPOT!!!!

But, I do feel a Sept. hm being planned...I am afraid, if I put it off , it will never happen. We are trying to save up for a house, maybe in a few more years.

Re: Is anyone putting off the honeymoon trip?

we have to wait till the summer when school lets out, and even then we will probably go to niagra falls or someting like that. Id rather put the money to the house.

Re: Is anyone putting off the honeymoon trip?

i feel when the HM is seperated from the wedding, it takes away from the feeling of it. If you have it at a different time, i'll call that a vacation.

just my thoughts..i would call maybe a local travel agent and tell them days/destinaltion and have them give u a quote...plenty of places to go

Re: Is anyone putting off the honeymoon trip?

I would contact your nearest Liberty Travel, and see if you can do a package deal possibly via GOGO package...mainly bc I'm learning that with GOGO u just get the cheapest deals... be honest with your travel agent and tell her your limit...she/he should be honest and tell u if its possible or not....
good luck

Re: Is anyone putting off the honeymoon trip?

I don't think there is anything wrong with pushing the honeymoon off a bit, but I think you should definitely plan something (even if its a few months after the weding) because you don't want to let it go altogether. I know how I am, if I were to put it off too long than you'll never get around to it

So try not to stress -- take you time and plan something nice, reasonable, and it'll still be your 'honeymoon' whatever time of year it is!

Re: Is anyone putting off the honeymoon trip?

Have you thought about Mexico for the honeymoon? They have a lot of great All Inclusive resorts that are less expensive than the Carribbean.
