small flower arrangements for cocktail hour

I'm thinking of doing the cocktail hour flowers myself if I can save some money.

We told a florist to use whatever he had leftover from centerpieces and ceremony flowers thinking it would be nice to have different arrangements on each table and would cut down on wastage.

I was quoted $20 for each. Ugh - I need at least 20 for table and to put around at other places. $400 for 20 mini arrangements seems like a lot (especially since I only want a few flowers in them and don't really care what kind of flowers they are)

I'm thinking of getting julep cups or any small glass container online and getting flowers online or at Costco.

Does anyone have photos to show me?
I'm willing to use any flower that is in season in mid summer.

Are you sure your hall is not providing any type of flowers for this? I know my hall is. they keep it simple, just votives and small, few flowers.

No - they don't provide any flowers but I want a lot so I have to figure out how to do at least some of them myself.

how about buying those small glass vases from Micheals and putting one floating candle in it or one flower floating in it...

that's what I may do...

good idea... cosco has 2 dozen roses for $13... they seem to be small bud... it would be nice a dozen in a vase...
