PEOPLE CHANGING THEIR NAMES ON LIW

When did the name changing trend start and why are people doing it? I had no idea it could be done?

I think some people are doing it because when they joined this site,they made up names off the top of their heads and now regret it.

I.e , I was a nervous bride hence, my screen name- NRVBRD. I wish I could have thought of something more creative.

I believe it is easy to do, just contact LIW and put in a request.

oooooooo ok. I just had no idea that it could be changed and we all kinda formed a friendship on the names we had and it kinda kept it informal and nice. I like my name, thank god, It doesn't mean anything. I am just a chick living in NY

When I get into heated posts and I get ripped apart I have considered changing my name, but that is just retarted , so I keep it but I have thouht about it ! LOL

I changed my name because too many non-LIW people who looked on here were recognizing me, ie. people from high school, friends of friends, etc. I just didn't want to be too conspicuous incase I ever post something that I don't really want those who know me to know. Also, it was too easy for those people to find out too much personal info about me and JT.

I wish I could change my name. I guess it is not a big deal but now I am realizing it is too long. Oh well.

Wacky, I thought that is what it stood for too LOL

I changed mine b/c it had my old work initials in it, and I hated that job-now that I am not there anymore, why be reminded everytime I post here? I really dont think its a big deal

Retarted exactly. Why hide? Everyone obviously posts their tens of thousand opinions on here. that's what it is for. it is silly to hide, especially wedding chat. who the hell cares. it's not like your the only one getting married...

Especially since we had to postpone our 070502 wedding date and got married 09-27-02 instead... lol!

I always find it odd when people change their names for privacy purposes - someone else invariably figures it out and there's a post like 'Hey ChristineC68, why did you change your name to SecretNW?'

Ha ha ha ha ha...It would be nice if people reserved that kind of talk for FM! If I changed my SN it would be because I really dont like my SN!!

Some people change their name, not to 'hide' from people on here but to retain some level of privacy from 'outsiders' looking at the boards (ie: family, friends, coworkers).

Whatever the reason for someone changing their name, unless they've made an announcement to the boards, it's really none of anyone's business and shouldn't be brought out of FM for respect of the person who chose to change their name.

JMO.

I agree however I wouldn't pick a name that people would know . The only person who would know this name is FI !
